Default Increased Unit Size Modification -Updated 5.1

Increased Unit Size Modification: 1.5x the number of soldiers in each unit, across the board. Example: Spearmen before = 150 per unit, Spearmen now = 225, Cavalry before = 60, Cavalry now = 90...

Install: Replace file in Stainless Steel/ Data folder

-Save game compatible(not with 5.0), SS 5.1, retrain soon cuz the AI will...

Thanks to Dingler, for the correction.

if only my computer to hand that... it would be so awesome.

the second issue is that it may affect gameplay i.e. its hard enough fitting 150 men on a wall section when they are small, more may be unwieldy.

Well, it worked with 160-240 on Rome Total War, would be great here as well (except for cavalry, it could remain 60)

Yes but RTW seemed to have better pathfinding and unit placement. I never had the problems with placing units in sieges in RTW that I do in M2TW.

    here here.

what took me 30 seconds to do in rome, takes me 10 to 20 minutes (no bull) to do in m2tw.

    its well, pathetic, really.

    and stressfull.
how hard could it really be to get a unit to spread out more than 4 columns, its impossible to block the roads inside cities, let alone the side-paths between them and the buildings as well

ive thought about getting kingdoms, but i realise inspite of some awesome mods needing it, its a waste of money.
im still gonna have the same hassles with deployment in seiges, and its the "seige" intro that convinced me to buy m2tw in the first place.
you know, that teaser video they released before the game

To get back on topic: I think that you can do it yourself easily. go into the edu and change the unit size yourself. I believe that 90 is the max size in the EDU and that represents 250 man units in the game.

I know how to do it, I was just hoping someone would upload a modified file so I wouldn't have to(lazy). Anyway, I did it myself, if anyone else wants it here it is.

    EDIT: first post updated

    1. Yes, if only, don't worry we will enjoy it for you.
    2. Correct, sieges in or out are a bit more cumbersome. Like when changing from large to huge unit size. But if you got the hardware its easily worth it.

I've modified my EDU so that some spear units (depending on faction) has minimum of 200 men, heavy infantry 170 and cavalry 85.
I think it's a must do thing if your computer can handel it

I thought about increasing the unit sizes, since my computer can handle it, then i got besieged in one my campaigns, and i changed my mind. with 150 men, it drove me nuts, i am not even going to bother with 200.

I play on the normal Huge unit size and I think that is the limit my computer could handle. Perhaps if I buy another video card and hook them in SLI....

Don't bother with the SLI,for due to some odd reason the TW series cannot detect both cards, and the same issue with multi core processors...something that CA really needs to patch in the near future, for I find it odd hat such a demanding game does not really support the solutions to graphical anhd slowdown errors, hence allowing more people to really enjoy the mammoth scope(or potentially mammoth)of the battles as they unfold in all their epic grandeur(I happen to be amongs thte lucky ones that have a really beefy rig,but think of the others CA

It is, but open field battles are great.

Awwwww shoot. That sucks. I guess I'll just have to buy a beefier video card.
