Yes, but by the parties putting forward a candidate (read: A person who WANTS to be Princep) we speed up the process instead of having the Consul run through the entire member list until someone finally says yes.

. These people regulate the discussions and keep stats on military casualties, there are 2 posistions avalable and anybody wishing to apply for these most go through there party and put up for nomination, they will then be installed by the Consuls.

Hopefully most of our neighbors feel friendly towards us, because I doubt an aggressive neighbor will give us maps of their chief cities.

Alright, lets just put this confusion to rest. Should Parties (P) or the Junior Consuls (J) choose the Princeps?

Friend senator this whole issue is just a huge misunderstanding;.The parties didn't elect the Princepes,merely put forward the nominee for this office!Then the Consuls appointed the nominees as PS. I say we hold to this;Senior appoints the nominee for the Opties and Junior for Populares. Also I would like to move further the debate;Shall we have THREE PS,to reflect the new Faction,Temperantia quod Voluntas Partes?

No, theres two Princeps to represent the two reports they are supposed to put forth. Thats like saying we should have three consuls to accomodate them. Thats another reason why I liked the Junior consul picking Princeps, because they could choose a Temperantia quod Voluntas

And I may have been unclear: should the parties choose princeps nominees (P) or should the Junior consuls just choose who they feel is best able (J)?

Senator,have you forgotten that the PS's main job is to preserve inner peace in the parties? If we have only two then you have one man responsible for two parties and that is not the best for the party that will be partially-represented... Also when making the office we had only two factions available and no clue about other factions emerging!If i must choose from the two you are proposing I would have to say Parties electing the PS rather than the Junior Consul.

The basic question is weather this will weaken the importance of JC and if yes how to give him an importance equal to SC...

Well, he has his Consular-veto power and can appoint censors. Perhaps give him the ability to reject candidates?

And I must insist that we keep two Princeps. I originally wanted one Princeps, but now we have two. Three would just be overkill.

Also, PS's original goal was to moderate debates, but that power was quickly scrapped in favor of just opening/closing votes. Now they just close votes. Really, its just a title.

I would object to that;What if a junior Consul abused his right to turn down candidates he dislikes or don't suit his agenda? What if JP could have the ability to turn down a nominee only if he provided evidence that he would be unsuitable for the position? Also,I am unsure if 3 men would work against the system,because their work would be better divided. See now for example; When I was Consul we had an irresponsible PS;the outcome was that my term is not yet implemented in the Senate's Records. If the Parties were to put forth a nominee as usual,we could make sure that the member put forward as nominee is responsible enough...

Yes, but with the work being spread out, there may be confusion about who has what report etc. Also, one PS would have no report at all that week, as there is only a military and vote report. Theres also an economic report that censors are supposed to do, but not many have done so.
