Good Film didnt stick to the story to well, espeically considering its an Anglo-Saxon poem and the filn is set in Denmark and Beowulf is now a Geat.....yes on the plus side the weapons are all historically viable and the sets were good and the Irish Priest is great makes me proud lol

I can't say I had a favourable opinion of the film. I found the acting sub-par at best, the fight scenes quite unremarkable and overall just didn't like the film at all.

Err... The poem actually states that beowulf was a geat, and that the story took place in Denmark!

Yeah, Beowulf was a Geat and Hrothgar was king of the Danes.

I loved the movie, but I'm really looking forward to the CGI movie coming out in November. It looks like it sticks to the original story a bit more. But I don't mind deviations from the book if it's done in an entertaining way (as "Beowulf and Grendel" did).
