Someone help me!

Ok so I just finished installng EB1.0 and keep on getting CTDs. Whenever I try to start a campaign or CB I get a CTD wit no error message. I don't know whats wrong cuz I uninstalled the previous version of EB like the installer said to do. I could just reinstall but that would take alot of time. Please help me.

Did you install it over a clean 1.5 install of RTW?

I'm pretty sure I did cuz the previous version of EB was the only mod that I ever installed for RTW. However, I still think I'll try a reinstall.

check if there are any remaining files of your previous EB version and if there are delete them.

I also keep getting CTD and I haven't solved it yet.
yet some people claim that they solve the CTD by either deleting the map.rwm in EB/data/world/maps/base or paste map.rwm file in there...
someone give a link to the file some time ago... here it is:

lets hope they'll make a patch to solve all these unexplained CTD

This did not help me. I get same exact problem. Load the game, when it reaches the screen with the EB map, it does not begin to fill the status bar. I hear the windows error sound, and have to either reset computer or alt tab out. When alt tab works (which isn't every time) I see a "protection error", but no specific information that might help determine why.

That is no map.rwm related error.
The basic prob of start-campaign CTD IF there are no error messages (wich is the prob you can not adress to EB members because they dont know what could it be - in the first case - they have message info)...

Try to reinstall and delete all RTW and EB data and install it all again--

when i first installed EB 1.0 i was having random and frequent CTDs, so i tried running it wth BI.exe as explained in lestat's post. now i dont have ctd's anymore (playing with KH). i know eb is not designed to be played with BI, but it works really fine for me. with the old 8.1 it was the same, i never, NEVER had a ctd when i started running it with BI exe. i don't know why or if that's gonna work for someone else but i think i'ts worth trying since EB runs perfectly now for me.

I've done that 3 times honestly. I guess I'll have to wait for a patch and hope something works. I'm at wit's end with it.

Yah on second thought I'm not gonna spend my time reinstalling everything when I don't even know what the problem is. If someone could isolate the problem that would be very helpful.
