Shield wall??

Am I missing something or there are Shield wall ability for some unites that I dont se in battle -- is that a BI shield wall or not? Do I need BI to use shield wall ability when I pres F on my Battle map?:hmmm:

Oh, that. It's what we minimodders tend to call "EB pseudoshieldwall" - the second formation settings of the unit, normally looser than the default, being in fact a closer order.

Personally I prefer to swap the tighter order into the primary spot. Generally easier and more intuitive, and makes more sense IMO. Plus less confusing for the AI I'd imagine.

Now it is I who got confused... always thought that EB did not have a real shield wall, thougth they have changed the unit formation to put soldiers nearer each other... is there a button that can make the shield wall even without EB?

Yeah, the "unit special ability" one if you're playing with BI and the unit's been given the shield_wall formation.
