Default Another Question, bout the Roman Cursus Honorum thats in-game

    Hey Guys,

Thanks for the info and feedback about the recruitable generals, I think I may be just one level off, for me to be able to do it, but I'll figure it out eventually, hehe

However, I do have another question.. During my search through the EB forums, I came across a House Rules thread, and I believe it was Konny who went into great detail about the Cursus Honorum:

Now I noticed that alot of the traits and such mentioned on his post, is actually in the game, and Generals can become Praetors, Quaestors, etc...

However, I noticed, that after the Winter turn is up, and it starts the new year, the current Praetors and Quaestors I have, for example, become Ex-Praetor, or Ex-Questor, so the question I got is simple:

Can these particular traits be renewed, in other words, can they become Praetors or Quaestors again as an example, by being reelected as such ? OR, do they always remain Ex-Praetors or Quaestors, and you just have to roleplay it yourself, that they just got reelected and all?

If, reelection is the case, and they can get reelected to become Preators or Quaestors again, in order for me to do this, do I have to send all my Generals back to Rome for the winter turn, and make sure they end their turn there?

Hope this made some sort of sense, I did read the traits FAQ, and also downloaded the HTML version of all the possible triggers and such for the Traits, however, It really didn't answer my question, so I'd figure I'd just ask ya guys here !

    thanks again

At least that one I can answer for sure: No. Staying in Rome is not required to be elected.

this is perhaps not totally related, but when a family member/general receives the right for a triumph in rome, does he need to return to the city? and stay there for a given period? or not? cuz i had several generals with that trait but it didn't seem to give them anything that special (though i could have missed it since there are so many traits - which is awesome )

and - this is more related to the topic - in the original rtw you had this pop up each few turns telling you who got elected in what position (consul, pontifex, etc) but in EB this isn't included (or i'm blind ) and its kind of a drag to go swapping through my whole family to find the guy who is consul or whatever. so could such a message be included in EB?

Just read the faction anouncements at the start of the turn.

It would really be helpful if that was included int he next release as it takes so much time to find the consul. It would be good if we got a pop up showing the election results every year with the magnifying glass icon so we could instantly locate the characters.

As far as I know, it's not possible. I think that option was linked to the existence of the Senate faction and the three Roman families of Vanilla RTW. And since that's gone, that feature's gone too.
