World Empires - Balanced
A non-historical mod with the aim of improving gameplay and adding in as many major factions throughout time as possible.
As you can see, the Atlantic ocean has been foreshorten, and Greenland and Iceland dumped in the middle of it like some icy Atlantis New Zealand moved to the south of Japan, and Australia duplicated in the Indian Ocean. Hawaii is now off the coast of Argentina.
This was all done for gameplay reasons, Too much ocean = not fun = no invading AI. Also, with a land path from Africa to Canaries to Iceland to Greenland to America we can connect the two hemispheres. Likewise, a land path will connect Oceania, Japan, New Zealand to mainland Asia.
Some other edits were made to improve gameplay, because of the angle of the map, the strait of Magellean cannot be included, however the Panama Canal should make up for that. Suez canal is included, lake Victoria now includes many tributaries on which game ships can sail, many rivers were lengthened, the great lakes connected, and many other changes.
The philosphy of this mod is, all factions will be balanced. History will not play a role. Since Australians, Victorians (British) and Americans did not exist in the age of swords, we'll need some creativity to come up with those factions, but otherwise all regions of the world should have an equal chance at success.
There are no deserts nor any really boring areas. The entire world is worthy of conquest. Sadly the map is not round, there's nothing we can do about that anyway. Some factions for starters:
Americans
Zulu Romans
Victorians
Australians
Chinese
Mongolians
Lithuanians
Ottomans
Indians
Nigerians
Mayans
Incans
Siberians?
Hellenic Greenlanders? I'm looking for ideas for factions as well as some people to write up descriptions and the like. Thanks
Edit: I can't get the image to work, can someone help me.

In case you haven't already noticed, the northern part of Australia is also still in its original location.
