My apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, I check the forum regularly but may have missed it if it has.
My understanding is the game will be broken up into segments of goal oriented mini-campaigns where basically the world is custom made for the chosen faction to reflect a particular time-frame and experience. This is cool. The reasoning I understood to be because most people did not finish the longer campaigns. I understand this as well. (I actually have finished)
Regardless, my question is, will the option to play a long village-to-empire game still be there. Perhaps some need to have a congratulatory "you win" from the computer or to have specific goals, but I always enjoyed the challenge of managing a large empire. Also, history doesn't have a "cut-off" point where a civilization wins, things continue on. Especially with the possiblity of revolt in the BI engine, even if you subdue the entire world, the possibility of civil war among your own people basically means the game can go on forever. As mentioned, this is a plus with me
Even if it is not available stock from you, will it be possible for me to modify it to be that way without too much trouble? I really like the way RTR works, and don't really want to jack with another mod, so if I can stay with it, I will.
