What can I do to speed up the campaign?
What can I do to speed up the campaign?
Buy more RAM.![]()
No seriously like disabaling the script or something

How would I disable the campaign script?

The script only runs when you end a turn, IIRC
The most basic advice is to make sure that nothing else is running while you play. For instance, even though seeding EB is nice, A BitTorrent engine can have noticable effects on the game speed. Turn every other program you can off.
There is a link in the FAQ to a guide that helps cut out some stuff like unnecessary Windows programs.
We advise 1-2 Gb RAM.
Turn down graphics settings (especially things like shadows and glints/reflections).
I would definately advise against something like turning off the script. Without the script, EB is basically broken. It won't even work as well as vanilla would.
thanks for the suggestions it helped
A campaign lag might also be caused by an undeleted map.rwm in any of the basic map folders. You should test your basic map folders and deleted all map.rwm, the game will eventually run faster and be less sensitive to cdts, if this has been the cause.
Could someone comment on this and please tell me, whether this is true or false?
Is it correct to say that it does have no effect on the script of an already started EB, if you delete the map.rwm (of course before reloading? (-> I start a new thread maybe for this question).

this is wrong, you can't play without a map.rwm, and if you delete it the game will always regenerate it (which result in a longer loadtime).A campaign lag might also be caused by an undeleted map.rwm in any of the basic map folders. The lag is caused by the script, and to my expierience happens at the start of a campaign (first turn) and occasioanlly during a campaign. BUT it is always only for one round, it stops lagging after clicking endturn.
my system is pretty average:
2 GHZ AMD 64 (4 years old)
1 Gig Ram
Geforce 7800 AGP 256mb
I turn off everyting that runs in the backround and has an icon in the taskbar (virus scan, bittorrent etc...)
Especially the Norton virus/firewall programs have the bad habit of using big parts of your ram
