    Default Historical battles

    I noticed that the historical battles are again playable in Platinum 1.9. This is good, because they last time I played RTR only Magnesia and Cynoscephalae were playable.

    Have the other battles been rebalanced though? I played one the other day and it was superfast. Units, even phalanxes, were tearing round as if they were on drugs, and the units seem to fight as if their stats were still vanilla, which confuses me.

    Can anything be done to rebalance the battles? Does anyone know anything about this?

    I don't think they have been edited at all, except to get working with RTR Platinum v1.9.

    Thanks for the info. Are there any plans to re-balance them? I think at least one of them has been changed though. I'm pretty sure Raphia has been.

    How do I do it myself? Does anyone know?

    go to rome total war/RTRPE/data/export_descr_unit.txt to edit units

    I know that. I'm not talking about editing units; I'm talking about how they behave in historical battles. RTR unit balancing in general is fine, but they still act in historical battles as they do in vanilla. Anyway I think I've found how to do that...

    I do have another problem though. I've tried doing another version of Cynoscephalae in which one plays Philip. I've swapped the AI and PLAYER entries in the descr_battle and descr_script and have managed to get the intro video working up the the point where the voiceover says "to arms etc..." = CYNOCEPHELAE_SPEECH_10, at which point it CTDs. I think there's a problem in the end phase scripting, but I cannot be sure.

    I've looked through both files and cannot find the error. Can anyone help? I'd really aprreciate any assistance because this is driving me nuts!

    You`d probably be better posting this in the workshop section of twc. It will have better chances to be noticed by people with scripting skills. Hopefully..
    Personally I can`t help you. I`ve never tried editing the historical battles. The ones in RTRPE(except Magnesia iirc) are about the same as vanilla from what I can figure myself except that, naturally, they use the new RTR unit graphics.

    BTW, if you do manage improve the existing battles or to make new ones post in this sub-forum please. It would be an welcomed add-on.
