Default preposition to create a full EB 1.0 guide

Compared to vanilla RTW, and even some other mods, EB is extremely complicated and there isnt much material designed to help new players get to grips with the new (and brilliant) mechanics, so...

i thought it would be quite a good idea if someone (me, with others) made a guide for EB. I know there are some faction walkthroughs but most of these were from 2005 or perhaps earlier and are, unfortunately, outdated.

i would like the guide to take the form of an E-book with information on factions, units, buildings and other features as well as walkthroughs for beginners and general gameplay tips

i'm fully willing to do most of the work on this but i could definately do with some help if anyone wants to...

please, if you want to help, even in a small way, let me know

    thanks

    Hi Vandal,

since I've enjoyed so much of EB (since v0.81), perhaps I could help to contribute in some way. Let me know what's on your mind and see what I could do.

I was already trying to acumulated allowances and documentation necessary for it, glad I am nt the only one interested... anyway, EB 1.0 documentation is already a great source of information, we would need to congregate it in a manual besides a very well described reform section (like the one for Hay faction). Anoher section would be a house rule sum where people could find new ways of playing the same game with better role playing interaction for those who appreciate it. Right now I am spendind time viewing the FAQ in order to selecionate what would be a good and proper material, I am not promissing anything but I will try to help your effort!

I would be glad to help in this. I could do some text editing, cleaning up the grammer, making sentences "tidier" and clearer. Also, it would be a big help for someone that wants to help write this guide but English is a secondary language. Let me know!

Well, I think you should have something about all the factions and their troop types. Plus maybe a "suggested opening moves" section. Especially for the harder factions. Someone that can go over the all the traits and what they mean would be useful. Maybe even a mini-guide on houserules and role-playing the characters and factions. All of that would be a great start.

    And a lot of work.

my idea is to split the guide into these sections:

    1) beginners guide to EB (screenshot heavy tutorial using Romani faction walkthrough, introduces basic EB concepts, for unexperianced RTW players).
    2) EB features guide (mini-guides to all of EBs new features for players who have RTW experiance but are new to EB itself, with sections on traits, MICs, factions etc)
    3) Faction guides (simple starting walkthroughs, 10-20 turns for all EB factions with tips for later campaigns)
    4) unit guides (info on all units, using unit cards, recruitment viewer and in-game descriptions, gives info on factions, MICs and govs required for each unit).
    5) House rules (for additional added difficulty for more experianced players, using the house rules thread)

    what do you think?

I had done something for the Romans, but it can be enlarge if needed. I am at the moment working on the unit guide for Pontos and will - if time allows - finish it this week, at least next weekend. I have also taken a deeper look into the roosters of Epeiros and the Sweboz and one of these will be the next.

So count me in, if there is still someone needed for this topic.

Yep, may be they have to be redone and simplified in some cases; I would like to parcipitate here too.
