Announcement: Last Faction Canceled For Present

The indeciveness and lack of eagerness to take on the 3rd faction that had not been decided yet and the time consuming factor also the need to focus on the other aspects of the mod,had led me to decide that the 3rd faction won't take place in CAE v1.4.

I intend to reserve the last faction slot for a possible Emergant Latin Kingdom idea since I intend to feature some crusades in CAE...

In that case the factions that are to be expected in CAE v1.4 are:

-Kingdom of Georgia
-Kingdom of Sweden

The fatigue of graphical work and the indeciseveness of a worthy faction that I'm personally interested in had led me to take that decision.I hope you'll understand.

Also I found it useful to say had I pursued the last faction idea the quality of this faction would incredibly be low and dissatisfying due to the lack of unit variations that I have left.

No doubt this will hasten the progress of the mod as well as the v1.4 considerably.Sweden is well on its way to completion currently I have finished 2 texture sets and am starting on the third one.This will be sufficient to create all the later period units of Sweden.

While adding new factions always enrichens the game,I think it's best to reserve at least 1 faction slot just in case.And now that most of the factions that I wanted in the mod are already implemented,I believe another extra one will not make a very powerful impact at all;especially when considering the time that can be spent on it can be spent on many other aspects for the general improvement of the mod.

I completely agree.

In Sweden's part there aren't much problem about provinces thanks to Carnium there are expansion opportunities there.

However in the East as we know there is the problem of Khwarezm getting stuck in Tabriz.Moreover now Georgia is added to the same part of the region,Tbilis as base.

So there is a high possibility that some early destruction of georgia or khwarezm is possible.And since there aren't any space to make new provinces there,it seems obligatory to extend the map a bit to the east.However this will take time and a lot of testing and may cause the mod to slow down a considerable amount so I'll think this carefully.

Ifyou create a province North of Baku. Then The Khwarezmians and the Georgians can expand seperate ways, and later on fight each other.

I was gonna say the same. If adding cities is not too hard, try to use armenian and georgian regions for expansion. West or east of tbilisi could be ideal. There is only one problem.Even if I create more provinces, as the default region near the Caspian Sea is very small I will just ensure that the Georgians and Kwarezmians will expand and not remain pacifized but this won't be an absolute solution to prevent them jumping on eachother all the time...

That's why Eranshahr also mentioned extending the map,I think and thats why I also think that there might be need for this.

The thing is, I have already planned how to do provinces for my own game. And my focus was on the AI, and it do work good.

Primary targets- Tbilisi, Kutatisi.

Secondary targets- Samandar, Trebizond

Remaining targets- Samkarsh, Sarkel, Rostov, Atil ( if they are free)

Usually at war with the Ottomans or Mongols.

I don't know HOW Georgia will affect this. But my guess would be that instead of expanding to the west, Khwarezm would expand north first.
And don't worry about teh mongols. They always capture Moscow and Kirov.

If you are interested in other changes- I hae made most factions that started with two provinces start with three instead. ( hungary, Poland, Spain) and then created Roskilde(Copenhagen) for Denmark, and in that province south Sweden comes with too.

In teh middle east my provinces, I was focusing on ottoman empire, if you want to role play as them or so. instead of capturing all of Kiev and Sarkel you capture Odessa, Rostov and Samkarsh. And then also Sevastopol ( if Kipchaks are in for the future)

Exeter and Cork on british isles. And some more in Middle east and Africa ( thinking about abbasid expansion- Basrah, Unayzaf and Palmyra)

It seems you've made quite a lot of changes Eranshahr and created 30 provinces I guess as you said before so how do they look? Do the regions look smaller? I intend to give Belgrad to Hungary.I guess you gave Belgrad to them as Hungary's third province,am I right?

Well no, I didn't give Belgrade to Hungary. Becaus I was thinking " Maybe there will be a future Serbia or Croatia?" Instead I created Zara as a rebel province ( northern Ragusa and eastern Venice) and I create Péch and gave that to the Hungarians. I gave Bilbao to Spain and Warsaw to Poland ( yes might be ahistorical last two)

Actually it was 29 provinces, Coimbra(or something) didn't work

The regions look smaller yes, but in some way the factions look more powerful. And the result of that Hungarian and Polish change is that Poland now attacks Minsk, Iasi, Prauge and Breslau ( the latter two I took away from HRE) And hungary attacks all it can get to.

Well scripts are really hard. one letter wrong and you freak out
