    Hi All! Great Mod
How can I add my own music in SS 5.0?

    Hi Shai-Hulud!
afaik you have to unpack the sound folder and repack it with the music you like (not a simple operation if it's your first experience in modding).

    Hi Rawghi!
I have some experience with adding music into the other mods (Long Road,
Deus Lo Vult) but in SS 5.0 it doesn't work.

When the program is rebuilding the file EVENTS.DAT or EVENTS.IDX the game crashes to desktop.

that is odd, did you correctly add your music to the play list text file?

Yes, I have write names of the mp3 to the descr_sounds_music correctly. Strange, but when I launch the game again (after rebuild EVENTS.DAT and CTD) my own music is appear to the game but there is no sound effects. :hmmm:

    Sorry for my English.

Check if you have all the sound text files in the SS/data folder.

Sorry to bring up an old topic, but how would you go about adding the new battle music from total war kingdoms to the 5.0 SS campaigns? The new music is just too good not to use imo

    1. Use the IDX extractor (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/downl...=file&id=32)on the music.idx in the data\sounds directory of each Kingdoms campaign folder...I'm pretty sure you dont need to unpack each campaign to get the IDX files.

2 Follow the instructions in this tutorial http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=77905

I've put the Tuetonic campaign strat map music in my game. Love it!

I tried doing the stuff for putting kingdoms music in but it is breaking my brain :hmmm:
I'm lost with the whole repacking business and inserting the names of the music files you want into the descr_sounds_music.txt file. So far I've unpacked music from britannica, crusades, and teutonic and main and put the music of the 3 campaigns inyo my main music file thing. After that I am totally lost.

    Err lol.

I managed to extract the music, but I don't know how to go about packing it back into a file. What files do I have to use to do that? After I manage to do that, I only have to change the descr_sounds_music.txt file in order to hear it in my campaign in ss 5.0, right? Or am I missing something.

The tutorial in the readme is not very helpful unfortunately . Unless you wanted to link me to a different tutorial. You linked me to the file's description hehe.

Crap sorry. Here's the tutorial lol http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=77905. Follow the Mod Folder Method

You dont repack the files yourself. You delete the events.idx and events.dat and the game rebuilds the files for you. You just need to put the mp3 files into the Stainless_steel\data\sounds\music directory and add them to the descr_sounds_music.txt file.
