Default Unspecified crash on battle start

I've had the basic game and 1.1 installed for awhile now and played without problems.

I recently installed patches 1.2 then 1.3, and finally kingdoms. I then installed the Reworked Mod, unpacked files, etc.

I can load and start the game and play around on the campaign map, but whenever it tries to load the battles, the units appear transparent for a moment or two, then the game crashes to the desktop with a blank box to click okay with, but no writing, no error message other than the box itself, etc. It does the same thing with the Crusades and Teutonic Campaign.

I've tried reinstalling twice without unpacking or touching the files, and without installing the reworked mod, and gotten the same error both times. Both times it has taken close to an hour to install Data pack 1 during the patching process, but it appeared to complete, didn't give me an error message, and continued on. I was then able to finish the process. Other than that, I had no strangeness or other issues installing.

I have a Sapphire Raedon 256kmeg card, 2 gigs of ram, and a P4 3200, plus plenty of hard drive memory. I'm not sure what is causing the error. Dotnet interface is updated, directx is updated, and video card was the newest one I could find for the card.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. A google search didn't help much, and a search of the fourms didn't turn up much either.

    unpacked files
You need to delete the two geography files stipulated in the unpacker readme. The reason it crashed even after reinstall is that you did not do a full unistall (i.e. delete the program files folder).

Deleting the whole folder did the trick. Thank you for the help.
