    how come no ones ever made a mod that makes the populace happy no matter what? that'd make things alot easier.

    I'd be happy enough to have some way to remove squalor. Like a button that kills all the poor people.

    Well see now the thing is... if you kill all the unhappy people then gradually your populace will evolve into a race that is happy with you. Which leads me onto...

    I'd like an option to be able to warn the populace to cut it out or else!

    Have a look at text files. Take a guess what they do. Changing reputation.. . is really really easy. This isn't exactly asking for more provinces here... just about 20-100 numbers you need to change.
    Unpack all files
    Look at desc_campaign_ai_db
    Go from there

    The game promotes fascism. There's nothing you can do to remove squalor other than waiting until there's so many poor people that your city revolts, after which you exterminate your own city and everyone still living it after the slaughter is happy happy happy. Works every time. It's just so boring. They might just as well have a "kill all the poor people" button. Naturally it would give whoever does it a lot of dread and cause some temporary unrest in the city, and the pope might not agree, but what choice do we have? Build public schools? Sorry - those were invented for exactly that purpose, but hundreds of years later.

    Reputation has been changed in tons of mods.

    You should really learn what the engine allows before pitching ideas.

    Just edit the export_descr_buildings.txt (need to be unpacked first).

    Just look for the line population happiness bonus or law bonus or something to that effect. Just add the same exact word to every building there.

    Make sure the bonus is not in the negatives value. This way you'll always get bonuses no matter what, except those (I think) hardcoded effect due to religious differences.

    After scanning through each of the game mechanic text files (so obviously not sound or model ones...) you would know this. Seriously have a read...
    there are two ways to remove rebels and pirates but I think it's better if you work it out yourself.

    *HINT take a look at the map ones.

    im serious man i am sick of those damn heretics and witches, they can really get on my nerves at the worst times.
    i also hate those stupid mongols and the timurids. and the aztecs dont even provide a challenge.
