Changing Phalanx Units to Spearmen Units, help?

Is there a simple way to change a phalanx unit, say a militia hoplite, to just a regular spearman unit? I want him keep all of his normal gear, i just want it to be a normal spear unit like the triarii, instead of having to form a phalanx in order to use his spear. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Go to Rome - Total War/data and open the file export_descr_unit. Change the entry by deleting the red part :

Backup the file before you mess with it to be able to revert any unwanted change.
