    Dear modding-team of chivalry,
    hello to everybody,

    As some of you know I am testing modifications in germany. The RTW and BI test are located on the homepage of germanys most famous computer-magazine.

    My team and I we tested the mod chivalry one year ago. It was the version 0.44 and 0.51. The test-result was very good.
    Now, one year later, some of my readers asked me again about the mod progress of chivalry.

    I checked chivalry in the last days. The result is great. We are really impressed of your great art-work. You created an amazing mod and I want say congratulations and thanx for the energy and the time you spent.

    Our result is that: Chivalry is the best RTW/BI Mod with a medieval/middle age scenario.

    By the way, I am proud to have a chivalry version on my computer. I play this mod with BI (Bi.exe).

    The Tests are made in german language because we are a german-test-team.

    Last year, one of your gamestar-employees asked me if they could take Chivalry on their DVD ... i told him we wanna make first a version 1.0 ... lol ...
    the 0.95+Hotfixes version is pretty much 1.0, except a bit planned cosmetic, but it might be, that there is nobody who will do this, the team is still supporting, but not longer developing, and if i say team, this is reduced to drak10687 an myself. Maybe if i will have enough time in future, i will going to produce a complete setup.exe for 0.95 incl. the Hotfixes.

    If that's all the changes that were planned, I could add some stuff to it myself at this point. A lot of my changes are my own preference, I don't know if you'd approve:
    All grass is short instead of long (to save graphics power and looks better, and no mouse lag)
    Landbridge across calais
    Unit movement on battle map is sped up by 0.2 on all terrain types.
    There is a 1% population growth bonus on all cities (since I use huge unit size, I need more population.

    Other than that I could go through and fix spelling errors that I've noticed, there are a lot to be honest, which is understandable as I think english is not your first language.

    Let me know what stuff you like, and if there's anything else you would like to do but just don't have time or don't want to, and maybe I could do it. I've learned a LOT about modding since I first started playing chivalry a long time ago.

    I also was thinking about making new loading screens, such as this one(I like the coloured loading screens, they look better):

    Thanks for the kind words, and we're glad that you enjoy our mod. And wow, do you guys have a whole team just for playing/testing TW?

    Well, DaVinci would have to answer to your proposal about the balance changes...
    However, the small spelling errors and graphical adjustments are definately something that anyone would be welcome to work on. I can remember, actually, that we've had at least one or two offers in the past to correct spelling and grammar, but it never went a lot further than that... not really a job that people like to do I guess, hehe.
    As far as the loading screens, well, we've probably been needing new ones for a while now, even if its just to go along with the different graphical updates that have happened to the units and cities. Someone actually made a batch of pretty nice ones. But if you were to make them colored... well, I think all of them would have to be colored... But if you are going to make them, I would rather you hold off for just a bit longer... as I notice theres still some unit adjustments I should make, like that HRE flag bearer in your pic above, lol.

    BTW, you said you changed the grass for better performance. I think thats a cool idea, but do you know anything about editing the trees? Even just their height and ect. I mean, I could change the models real quick, if need be, but I just don't know how to make them work in the campaign map...

    The trees I've not worked with, since they are a completely different thing than the grass. Personally I play with vegetation detail on low so the trees are always sprites, and they don't get big when you get close to them.

    I already made 4 other loading screens before I read your post, here they are. And of course I would make a whole new set all in colour. By the way, they are in jpg format here, on my computer they are TGAs and look much better.

    Awesome screens, no, much much better as what you did earlier on with your first Chivalry AAR still on SCC, was that, right?

    I think you should do the loading screen part for the "half-planned-still-release".

    I actually have no time to manage here something, but i guess Drak can do it if he wants, with you together.

    So far to your mod design changes or addititions you offered above:

    So, the make it clear, please manage this with drak, he said he offered you dev forum access, so consider yourself as chiv member from now on

    And if you are up for that, then you both could also manage the then upcoming complete setup.exe with all the then latest stuff contained ... i believe i have still sth. in the dev forum titled as 0.96, check this out please, you both.
