Should CAE v1.4 be released as soon as the new 3 factions are completed?

This is a very important poll on an issue that I decided to leave entirely to CAE players pregorative.

It's important for you to participate or else I'll have to decide myself and the results might be not satisfying.So I will personally request for you to participate,and if you feel like it post here on this thread to elaborate why have you voted in favour of the one of those 3 poll options.

Technically the members who have below 50 post counts can't vote on this poll.However,I'm sure there are many players who have below 50 posts so they should be able to vote on this poll since they are also CAE players by doing so:

I voted I can wait longer. Question: have the final three factions been decided? I thought it was Georgia, Sweden and ... What is the third faction? (I sacrificed a chicken in the hopes it is not a worthless Irish faction).

I don't knwo what to vote to be honest. Because I would also like to see new provinces and an Abbasid faction roster in 1.4. BUt I can also wait longer.

Hello Benoit,in order to vote scroll with your mouse to the top of this page and there you will see 3 options with a space in a circular shape next to them,choose one of them by clicking at that circular small space.

And then choose "vote now" below the questions/options.

Secondly thank you for your very positive words about me Although I'm the one that makes the mod I'm not the only one who plays it,there are other people also.

So this is a bit different case I think people have the right to state their opinions by voting on such a specific issue.Afterall if I feel like it I can play the newly added features but people have to wait so that's why I decided to make a poll about it.

You're right about the two factions Georgia and Sweden,Georgia is completed and Sweden is in progress.The poll for the third faction is still opened and it hadn't been decided yet however when Sweden is finished the third faction will be decided as well,and I'll announce which faction it will be on this sub-forum.

Excuse me Eranshahr but I'm not sure I could completely understand the question.As you know I'm currently working on v1.4.

Abbasid revamp by the way is already in the list of v1.4 and it belongs to the v1.4 so also will be released with v1.4.

I believe that if ive waited this long then it wouldn't hurt to wait a bit longer. The quality of this mod is more important the quick updates. Id rather have the whole of something then bits and pieces.

It's obvious that v1.5 is certainly essential for the further improvement of the mod.I have some ideas for it,but some of them are currently vague in my mind,the release of v1.4 is extremely important for it will enable me to relieve and concentrate completely on the new features and stuff.

I feel absolutely ready for v1.5,the hardest part is v1.4 I can easily tell.

I didn't say that Abbasid roster was completed Eranshahr I said it will be completed and will be released along with the v1.4.

Rest assured that in any case CAE v1.4 will be an improvement because 3 new factions are not peanuts.The most logical action would be to release CAE v1.4 when the new factions are completed so when people are playing v1.4 I may concentrate on v1.5,nevertheless I opted to leave it to CAE player's decision that's why it's important for people to vote on this poll.

And after the release of v1.4 the mod's progress will hasten considerably since most time-consuming process which is the implementing of new factions will be over.And the rest of the stuff that remains I have aptitude towards and am proficient with.

v1.5 will be mostly coding and scripting in essence+ some compulsory visual material as well.But believe me wonders can be achieved when they're put to good use and if one has intriguing ideas.

I know many people likes the new factions and units,such stuff.And there is nothing wrong with that.But if you ask me Eranshahr for a mod to look "completed" or better these just by themselves are not enough.

Besides all the new factions that all of we modders making had kind of grown old. Many factions have been featured in many mods,we kind of got used to them,take Shahdom of Khwarezm for instance what a bore (just kidding)

And unless you apply some hardcore modelling and implement something like that into the game:




I'd say most of the textures are in vain and no new unit will make hardly a glamarous change

I voted C because I believe that taking it gradually increases quality of the mod.

I think that it is best to implement a few features (here including a few new factions), release the mod and have the community play with it for a while. That way any (if any?) faults can be sorted out. After that, work on a new version with the additional features. A few advantages here, quality (my view), workload (although you're the judge of that) and it will keep the community more interested (again my view).

Otherwise, if many changes are done immediately, I fear that debugging (if any) may be quite complex.

But let me end by saying that its really your choice.
