    Parasite that eats a fish's tongue and then attaches itself to the stub, thus replacing the original tongue. Never seen one personally, thank goodness.

    The sea lemon. A mollusk that feeds on dead organic matter, and wards off predators with a strong, lemon scent. Not exceedingly surreal, but interesting anatomy, and a pretty cool name to boot!

    When I was in Crete as a 4 year old, I saw an enormous roach. It may have been bigger back then, though. I think it was about as big as my head.
