    Default Crusades: best faction

I want to start a crusades campaign, but I cannot choose a faction, it is the only campaign where I love all the faction. Please just tell me witch is your favourite faction and why. I do not mean necessary the most powerfull, but the most fun campaign to play.

Any of the Crusader states, personally I prefer Jerusalem over Antioch (just a bit).

I find it sort of like this:
    - Byzantium isn't that fun. Your enemy are the Turks and from the very beginning they are preoccupied with Antioch. Therefore not that much action. A rogue crusade comes your way but it's not really much...
    - Antioch (has ugly colors xD) faces Turkey. At first it's sort of intense, but when Byzantium starts pushing down on the Turks too, there's a period of inactivity. Sometimes the Byzantines will wipe out the Turks to the north of you and go for a chunk of your land, resulting in a two-front war. Rarely happens though. It's also sometimes fun to help Jerusalem fend off the Egyptian Blitzkrieg.
    - Jerusalem is neighbors with Egypt, and it's pretty tough surviving againt the rampaging hordes that swarm out of Africa. If you don't exploit AI stupidity too much (especially on bridges), Jerusalem's campaign can be challenging. I was pushed back pretty far by the Egyptians before I could organize a counterattack.
    - Turkey is also an interesting faction to play. Your land is divided down the middle by Antioch, and you're at war with both them and the Byzantines. Holding onto the piece wedged between your two enemies can be somewhat difficult, although your other half of territory can quite easily hack through Antioch and back up the surrounded bits.
    - Egypt I didn't find that interesting. If you don't blitz Jerusalem in the beginning, it can be somewhat of a challenge. I found defending against Egypt more difficult than playing as them, though.

So, I'd recommend Jerusalem at first. Seems to be the most interesting faction.

Thanks to all for voting. It seems that for now Jerusalem is the most loved. The first faction that reach 10 votes will become my faction

I go with Byzantium. Bad ass cavalry, good infantry, excellent situation and flamethrowers...

Antioch. But Broken Crescent when it comes out will be way better...

Byzantium is the most fun campaign... with all my armies attacking the turks in Anatolia the 3rd Crusade arrived and took Constantinople so I'm fighting a desperate defense in my un-defended heartlands.

Jerusalem has the most action, but Antioch has the Cannons of the Holy Sepulchre.

    I'd go with Antioch, personally.

    1) Antioch is more fun to play than Jerusalem imo.
    2) Turkey has the strongest roster of units among them all (Jannisar heavy infantry, badass riflemen, 2 hp hashashins and lots of other absolutely rediculous overpowered units).

    i go with jerusalem.

being Israeli influenced it the most, but Jerusalem also gets some nice action with egypt especially since i've found egypt to put up a fairly good fight.

Well i tried Antioch..but it´s a bit annoying hearing a french accent (my oppinion)

Ok..now seriously..i choose both Jerusalem and Antioch. Why? Because they have such beautiful units to slaughter other factions.

And i conccur that those hashassins (assassins of armies) are a bit overpowered indeed.

I've started a campaign with Jerusalem since seems the most loved here. I have just a few questions: how can I retrain the contestable of Jerusalm? If I watch the "tecnology tree" for cities of castels there are not contstables, even in Jerusalem. And secondly, don't you find that this faction is a bit unbalanced? How need so many types of heavy cavalry?

PS Shouldn't Bladwin IV be the leper king? He has no leper traits, or something else that reduce his healing points.

PPS Shouldn't Acre be the fortress of the templar knights, in the game it is a city

EDIT: And where is the mighty Saladin? Is he hiding somewhere like a coward?

This is posted in the wrong thread, should have been a reply to sommo James. Saladin is out there somewhere, once Richard1 arrives he will show up.
The constable is a unique one off unit, cant retrain.Templars and most western armies relied heavily on mass heavy cavalry charges, thats why theres so much cav available.Dont think it matters which city is Templar HQ,Kerak seems fine to me.Baldwin should be a leper, agree about the traits, but then again he was pretty remarkable. What about the Knights of Lazarus?Should of had them, cause fear due to their leprosy[all lepers in real life].

Hi, I've discovered that the constable of Jerusalem should be retrainable. Just look into the export_descr_building.txt (you need to unpack the game). Jerusalem is not in the required faction for building the king' stable, and that building is required to recruit the constable, by looking into export_descr_unit.txt.
