Technical assistance for M2TW

Hmmm, that's odd, as this mod was made for patch 1.1.
Does it happen right after selecting a faction and hitting the button to start a campaign?

Why when i start Campian its loading long time a faction?

Because it has to create a so-called map.rwm file which is very big.

I have M2 patched to 1.1 and when I install Renaissance, it still loads as M2, how do I get it to run right?

Do you run it using the RenTW 2.75 shortcut installed on your desktop?

When I run it from the shortcut, the command window comes up for a split second then closes and does nothing, so then I tried running it from the executable in the folder.

Please, make sure you have a Renaissance folder in your M2TW dir, and not a Renaissance Total War 2.75 one. If one's not careful enough, the installer creates this directory and puts the contents in there...

I installed the mod but it doesn't show up on my mod list

what gives? how do I fix this!?

Eh, I don't use "steamed" M2TW, so I don't have an exact answer...
But I recall Steam users have to add the mod startup info in their game launcher in Steam.
I hope someone with more knowledge about this drops in.

I've got this problem as well. Whenever I go to start a campaign or custom battle, the game freezes, although the cursor continues to spin. I'm running Vista 64.

Quixhote07, how long have you tried waiting?
Anyway, try resetting the computer and after that, running RenTW again.
(I don't have Vista, so it may be some complication with that, but it's worth a try.)

Huh, that will be a long wait.
If you wish, you could try one last thing; I attach a new Renaissance.cfg in this post. It is named Renaissance.cfg.txt, because I can't upload .cfg files here; after downloading, just delete the .txt extension from the end. Try replacing the original one with this.
Also, check that the .bat file contains this line
medieval2.exe @Renaissance.cfg --io.file_first
You can open it with any text editor.

You haven't specified what your exact problem is, but I suppose you're not getting ahead when the map is loading.
If this is the case, try quitting the game and entering again. If that doesn't help, locate the "map.rwm" file in your Renaissance\data\world\maps\base folder and delete it. It will force the game to create a new one, and this time -hopefully - it will succeed.

Hi:

Whenever I start a Grand campaign, I choose the country, set the conditions, then click start but it doesn´t load anything, instead it goes back to the single player screen with the grand campaign, quick battle etc options, so it doesn´t even load the map. Any ideas?

That is a strange occurrence, and most probably tied to a messed up installation of RenTW. Try uninstalling the mod and installing it again, making sure it installs into your root M2TW folder, NOT into one called "Renaissance Total War 2.75".

hey i have a problem whenever i try to play your mod it gets to the first title screen then takes me back to the desktop,
i am using med 2 on v 1.1 and i am using vista and dont have a renissance 2.75 subfolder. have i done somthing wrong
