I click on the MS-DOS file named Renaissance in my Medieval II folder but nothing a happens. A black window pops up briefly and then dissapears...
Thats wierd. It never happened to me. However, that has occured whne I play regions and provinces mod. Since this mod uses regions and province mod that is understandable. sadly, I cant fix your problem.
Sorry for the delay, I've simply not noticed this thread 'till yesterday, then I answered, and the crash destroyed my post. Bah.
Anyway, I'll repeat what I wrote the other day. In your M2TW, is there a Renaissance or a Renaissance2.75 sub-folder?

I have the same Problem
I have a Renaissance2.75 sub-folder.
Then that is the problem. Uninstall the mod, install it again, but be careful to specify "Renaissance" as the folder to install the mod into in the appropriate dialog box (for some reason, it wants to install it into a wrong path; thus, specify it yourself). It should work.

OK...........Thank´s for your Help. Now it´s work fine
I can´t wait for V 3.0 of Renaissance!
I've dl'ed the mod and try to play it on 1.2 wich as expected didnt work (wanted to start a new campaign but it freezed and nothing happen so..). I know did a fresh install without the 1.1 patch and reinstalled the mod. Same problem as with the 1.2 patch. Then did it with the 1.1 and i still had the same problem. What did i do wrong? Did I installed something in the wrong folder. Didn't remove something?
Thanks in advance
That's weird. Well, maybe not that weird, but we'll see. When does it freeze? You selected a faction, adjusted the campaign difficulty, length etc. and pressed the start button, and then it froze up? Or some time before even reaching that screen?

It's good to have those type of posts in one place, thus I'll put some recent related threads here, and encourage everyone to post their technical questions here.

i can't play with renaissance...
i've installed this in the sub-folder named Renaissance Total War (and not 2.75) but it doesn't work:hmmm:
More exactly, what is the nature of your error? Doesn't it even start up? Or it does, but can't get the campaign working?

M2TW mods produce that kind of error when something is missing... Please, double check that you have the following.
-Renaissance (directory)
-renaissance.cfg
-renaissance.bat

i've just re-installed reinassance, nothing is missing.....
i really don't understand
Do other mods work with M2TW? If not, then maybe there's something missing from M2TW itself.

i'll try to reinstall MTW2...
thank for all
Hi,
I'm running MTW2 v1.1 and I have followed the instructions on how to install the mod. However part way through the installation I am informed that the batch file 'renaissance.bat' cannot be created. I'm running windows vista. I'd be greatful if anyone could offer some assistance and hopefully a fix.
Thanks for your time!
hmm... sounds like a vista security "feature" issue to me
try running the installer with admin priviliges ("run as administrator" option) in windows vista - that should (under normal conditions) solve the problem
Two questions:
1.Which is the latest version? (link please)
2.Which version of MTWII it requires? Compatible with Kingdoms?
Ths dudes.
