Icon3 Question - Problem converting to Catholic

    Hello Everybody,

First of all I'd like to thank tornnight, this is a great mod, I enjoy it very much!

My question is about converting people. I am trying to make Famagusta a Catholic city, so far I managed to pass 70% boundry, but for some reason it halted there.

    Two related screenshots:

I saw 74% of the population converted to Catholic but now it's back to 73% and I can not push it any further.

I have a Church there which gives 2% religion conversion bonus according to desc.

I also have 4 cardinals and 8 priests in this region, but still two Syrian imams (one with 5 rings and the other with 6 rings) halted my conversion.

I don't have an access to assasin yet, so I can't kill these imams.

I also can not build bigger churches right now. I want to take these cardinals and priests to other regions ASAP.

So is there anything I can do at this time?

    Thanks in advance.

Take some troops and squash them! first surround them with units and then put a unit over them - instant death for the imam!

And you should be able to convert further with such an overload of priests anyway - wierd.

From what I've seen, overall percentage is equal to the ratio of, in your case, catholic priest piety vs imam piety. I think it adds the piety of all priests in a region, regarless of religion and then figures the target percentage, or max percentage, based on that ratio. It then moves in that direction at a rate depending on how big a shift it is. For example:

I have 2 priests in a territory. One is Catholic and the other is Eastern Orthodox. Each have 2 points of piety. The territory will eventually be split 50/50. Now I add another Catholic priest of 6 piety. There's now 10 points in the settlement. 8 are Catholic, while 2 are Orthodox. The territory will eventually reach 80/20.

I think churches/mosques effect that end percentage. If a cathedral adds 10%, then in that last case, the 80/20 gets 10% Cathlolic added on, and it ends at 90/10.

But hey, this is a guess. It's tough to check since priests die or move around before a territory really ever hits steady state. In my opinion, they should have just incorporated the RTW: BI religion system. That system seemed to make a lot more sense. And it was at least explained.

I disagree... religion is much improved in M2tw.
Neighbouring regions is dumb... sure constantinople might care what religion rome is but I doubt they care about what religion some 1k pop town nearby is.
Increments in 1% instead of 5%... needless to say this is important
If what you said above is true... that's much better then
