Default The Third Age: Total War

Announcing a Middle-earth Mod for Medieval 2: Total War:

    The Third Age: Total War
This mod will land you right in Middle-earth, fighting for the Free Peoples against the growing might of Sauron. Isengard has forsaken the Men of the West, and allied itself with Mordor. Fight your way to peace as Rohan or Gondor. This is a time of fear, death, battles, and despair. This is Total War.
This mod is a total conversion, aiming for the ranks as such great Rome: Total War mods as LOTR: TW and FATW. We have high hopes for this mod, and with recent cooperation between mod teams, we hope this can become a reality. So be prepared to enter Middle-earth as soon as the mod loads, and command great armies such as Gondor and Rohan can still muster and fight through these dark times, to enter an era of peace. Well until the Next Shadow, but FATW takes it from there.

    Just some notes-
    • For all you naysayers, we have the support of the Fourth Age: Total War team.
    • Nothing special, but I said notes in plural so I need more than one bulletin right?
    • We are seeking outsource modelers and skinners for specific task.
In the future, we will be seeking outsource modders for other purposes. We may set a 3d model that needs done, maybe a texture or other 2d art. We may need UI cards done, and that can be done by outsource modders. If you prove your worth to the team through repeated activity of high quality with us, we may bring you into our ranks.

Well, that's because no Middle-earth mod (that I know of) deals with a time period where Arnor would be a viable faction.

As Apoc said, the "Kingdom" of Arnor doesn't exist, except in the Dúnedain. The realm it encompassed still exists though.

Thanks for the responses. Don't forget to visit our home forums at Chamber of Records.
RIP Calvin, you won't be forgotten.

Just for the information, there is already a Middle Earth mod being made for M2:TW that is called Third Age: Total War (or maybe it's one and the same?)

But other than that, I wish you good luck!

Besides, the Kingdom of Arnor was splintered for a very long time, so you would have to go very far back to have a united Kingdom.

    Hellom

Thank you for your support. Concerning the factions, the list is done, but the way it will be released is still being planned. You will see Rohan, Isengard, Gondor, and Mordor in the first releases at least.
RIP Calvin, you won't be forgotten.

We currently don't need any other help than outsource modelers and skinners/2d artist. If you can qualify at one of those, than come on over to the Chamber of Records: http://www.chamber-of-records.com/fo...play.php?f=151 .

If you don't have Milkshape but 3ds Max, thats fine, send me the model and I can convert it, but I can't do the UV Mapping or any of that kind of stuff.
RIP Calvin, you won't be forgotten.

Many thanks! Will it include a campaign mode? The TW landgrab is getting tired now, but not if you're controlling Mordor or Isengard! Landgrab is their middle name.

Most likely there will be a campaign mode, but not in the first release. Thanks for the support.

Their is already a "Third Age Total War" created by Light.

    http://tatw.wordpress.com/

Is this the same mod or are you just swiping his mod name? Details are a little lacking in regards to this.

Either way, good luck with the project.

The worst has happened, real life and technical limitations. Sadly, work on this mod has to be discontinued for the foreseeable future because of personal issues. We have only gotten this far with the help of the Fourth Age: Total War team. They are some of the best people I have ever worked with. We had their full support, but real life overcomes. Perhaps this will be continued, but not until everything is fixed up.

    Sorry and Best Regards,
