Least Played Faction

I always see posts on who the best/favorite/strongest is, so let's turn it around.

Who do you think is the least played faction of all?

My guess is Hungary. I just don't see many Hungary players around.

I'm thinking about giving the faction with the most mentions here a try on my next campaign, just to see if they deserve to be unloved. Might even post an campaign report, if it's noteworthy.

Stopped counting due to people voting for multiple factions...still, Hungary seems to take the cake, with HRE, Poland, Moors, Portugal, and, surprisingly, England, getting multiple votes.

I've never played as the Moors.

The faction I never play is Hungary, not only because of their ugly colors, but also their starting location and unit roster. Not my type of faction at all.

I don't like all the current eastern factions and hungary because of their weak unit roster.

I tbh think CA did a damn good job balancing all the factions, making them all have their good sides.

But the least played factions I think, must be Hungary.

Hungary. Nasty Colour, and an average unit roster in my opinion.

I've never played as Hungary, Sicily, Poland, Denmark or Scotland. I may try out Sicily or the Danes someday though.

The only two factions I have never played before are Poland and the Holy Roman Empire (Germany). I will try them out some time though, the Polish usually get a large amount of eastern territories on my campaigns. The Holy Roman Empire normally fades away over time, and eventually has fewer than five territories.

I never play as england. ever.
For some reason, the idea of playing my home nation justdoesn't appeal to me. I'm more inclined to take the side of scotland/ireland. Celtic>norman any day.
I don't play france or the HRE either.
Whatever anyone else says, I quite like hungary. The lack of briliant infantry makes them a challenge, and their start position isn't all that bad.

I never played the Byzantine Empire, their unit roster is kind of bad and dull but i gave them out for a spin

There are more factions I haven't played than I have played.

Only one game I've played right to the end is my current Stainless Steel game with Leon y Castille. Only faction I'll definately never try is England. Couldn't bring myself to do it, despite the longbows and nice swordsmen units.

So that's a vote for England.

I really like Hungary. Croat axemen are underestimated, and if well supported can do very well indeed. They have good HAs and cavalry in general, so i think they are well worth a try. Most underplayed for me is Poland. They just look boring...

Vote goes for Hungary. (is that how you spell it?) I personnaly have played them, but I noticed not many people have, and I don't like their unit roster. Has anyone ever completed a game as Sicily though? They're great fun, a lot like France and HRE but near The Middle East and Africa. Also, managing rebbelions in a city you took in a crusade is actually okay.

I love my Sicily campaign (and their kick-ass triskelion silver-black logo)!

obviously, their Norman Knights, Muslim archers and strong militia are a force to be reconed with. and the Papal states are always nearby, so you can form alliance with them and bribe your way through anything the hell you can come across .

2 all - about Hungary, they actually do not have a bad roster. just play them against anyone you want in skirmish mode. their pavise spearmen and battle hashashins (2 hp ftw) are pretty good. at the same time they have an option to create plated dismounted knights. their archers are rather crappy, but they also have decent cavalry. so Hungary, besides having horrible colors (along with Byzantium, imo) they are pretty good factions.

I actually can not point a finger at any faction and say they are absolute crap. CA did a pretty good job balancing them out. except for Mongols and Timurids who are cheating sobs.

PS: In my honest and non-biased opionon, the French have the strongest roster ever. did anyone see their fully-plated Scottish longbows in action (it is funny that French have better Scottish archers than Scotts themselves have)? absolute hardcore BS. along with their professional armies of knights of all sorts.

Holy Roman Empire - they're totally a bunch of sausage-eating Germans with too many starting territories and the horrid mountain regions. I hate trying to maneuver through that mountain region. Plus every time I play the HRE are a bunch of backstabbing jerks, so I have no desire to play them.

But I've also never played as Hungary, Egypt, France, Milan or Venice. I'll probably try France someday (since I conquered the world in the original MTW with them).
