    Default Imperial Palace Anomaly

Okay, I noticed this last night in my campaign to take over the world:

I have imperial palaces in Bononia, Rome, and three other cities. If I reached the necessary 24,000 population in some other cities, but didn't have the necessary building tree, the imperial palace did not appear (of course). But what is odd is that once I completed the necessary building tree (and in fact built every building I could build), the Imperial Palace still did NOT appear.

So, I'm thinking one of two things: (1) there is a limit to the number of imperial palaces I can build or (2) I need to bring the population down to below 24,000 again and raise it up with the building tree in place.

Just something I noticed in my campaign. Any thoughts?

Not all cities are able to build an imperial palace. This has been discussed before please use the search feature of these boards in the future.

Where you can build Imperial Palaces in Roma Surrectum is, and will be limited. The idea of having IP's all over the map just makes not sense, so they are limited to millitary base AOR's, Legion AOR's, and some cities that really would have one. If you find a city you think should have one....because of it's historical importance (or because it did have something similiar), let me know. Otherwise, yes, many cities will not be able to build one.

    DVK:

    Thanks for your answer.

    Squid:

I understand your frustration at seeing a question that has been answered before. Imagine mine when I ran my search prior to posting this question (as I do try to do). For your information and edification, here are the search results "imperial palace" (which is the broadest search I ran):

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/searc...archid=1625235

Here are the results for the search "imperial palace limitations":

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/searc...archid=1625265

Here are the search results for the term "imperial palace cannot build":

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/searc...archid=1625272

Now, to your credit, I did not take the time to read every post on every thread. I scanned the posts for relevant information and I think even you would agree that the threads coming up shed no light on this issue.

I apologize for the posting the question again.

In the future you should limit your searches to the Roma Surrectum forums for Roma Surrectum related questions. Doing an advanced search for "Imperial Palace" in just the Roma Surrectum forums would have yielded one thread you were looking for, no more than half way down the first of three pages which has the title of "upgrading city issues" or the like, which given you were having issues upgrading a city would have been a perfect fit based on title alone.

I am unable to see your search results but based on your comments you tried to search the entire board.

You can trigger the Marian Reforms in the following cities by building an Imperial Palace:

    Mediolanium
    Patavium
    Byzantion
    Tarentum
    Bononia
I have over 30K and 36K population in Patavium and Mediolanium at 227BC and there is no Imperial Palace in the building tree. Can someone explain why this is not working?

    Thanks.

RS1 with hot fix 10c. It would be nice if the Intro screen posted this info.

Have you built city plumbing yet in either of the cities?

Not sure what you mean by this. I have built all water improvements that were available.

You had to build plumbing and paved roads at one time to build the Imperial Palace, but the last patch removed that requirement.

No, as of 1.10c city plumbing is still required to build and Imperial Palace, roads are no longer required. City plumbing itself requires a great forum to be able to build it.

Let's see. Patavium has city plumbing and a Curia and 36K - still no Imp. Palace. Mediolanium has city plumbing and Great Forum and 30K - still no IP. Somethings not working right.

Did you install the last hotfix in the Hotfiix section? 1.10c.exe ? The only restriction is a hidden resource..no buildings.
Both Mediolanium and Patavium should be able to build the IP.

Yes, 1.10c is installed. I don't understand about the hidden resource or how to fix that.

I'm experiencing an anomaly of a sort as well.

In the Roman campaigns I've played long enough into, I can have cities all over my empire, especially the cities of Italia, reach a level in which an Imperial Palace could be built, like in Rome or Bononia. However, something must not trigger correctly, because as soon as the population of that city surpasses 24,000, there is no option that allows me the ability to build an Imperial Palace.

To my knowledge, I have 1.10c installed. I will double-check to make sure.

Please read the entire thread if it isn't an unreasonable length, the first two responses to the thread answer your questions.

Not all cities can build and imperial palace even though they can reach the required population for one.
