    Default Problem using modded textures

    I don't know why, but yesterday, my copy of MTW2 stopped working. I'd start the game and it would get as far as the MTW2 splash screen and then CTD. This kept happening. I tried removing the command: '[io]
    file_first = true' from my medieval preference file and the game loaded properly.

    I tried reinstalling and unpacking again (using patch v1.2) and the same thing happened, until I removed the command from the preference config file. The trouble is, this means I cannot use the modded textures that I've downloaded and the game just looks dull without those textures such as Burreks European and Blood textures, as well as all the great new shields.
    Can anyone help? I really want to be able to use these textures and I don't understand why '[io]
    file_first = true' is making the game CTD from the MTW2 splash screen. I've deleted the two descr new geography (or whatever they're called) files that the patch 2 readme says to delete.

    I'm not sure if I've got Microsoft .Net 2.0 Frameworks installed, could this be causing the problem? What else could it be, any ideas anyone?

    Anyone at all? It was working fine before, any ideas why it's not working now?

    Ok, I've got the textures working. Everything except the shields, that is. I've d/l a whole load of new shield textures, but now the game doesn't recognise them. I've entered the file_first = true command in the cfg file, but that hasn't made any difference. Why should all other textures such as uniforms, blood etc work and the shields not work? Is there a way to just overwrite the original shield textures, as I'm happy with the new ones and don't want to go back to the originals?
