Thread: Phalera for Philosophers Robe awardees

Default Phalera for Philosophers Robe awardees

This thread is open for the nomination of additional citizens for the rank of Phalera.

The purpose of this is to swiftly award those who deserve the award with the award, rather then for it to gather dust in the memoirs of the Curia as single nominations pop up every few months.

Nominate away! All of those who originally held the philosophers robe will be in the election, only those with at least three backers as nominators will be in the election.

    Nominees:
    Zenith Darksea
    Seneca
    Tostig
    Oldgamer

    Garb is already Opifex.

Basically this bill will set up an election for all of the philosophers robe holders to gain the phalera award. To do so a multiple-choice vote will be set up, in which all of the previous holders will have a position. Citizens will vote on all of those they believe deserve the award.

Support this section, at least in principle.

It's the same award with a different name, though the constitution doesn't actually say that, that was the intention behind creating the award . Meh, if you want to give Garb the same award twice I'm not going to complain.

I'm not going to put Garb forward under this proposal, as I consider the awards too similar to be granted to the same person.

Do none of you have any nominees?

I think it's a solid decision to re-vote the previous holders of the robe, proposing others on the same ticket just complicates things and is likely to cause voter apathy, imo.

I support the vote on these guys.

In my opinion they should have simply been given the Phalera anyway.

The awards are useless trinkets. I reckon the awards should each be given to one member on the site only.

Sorry, I think people have misunderstood, those four are automaticly put forward, the job of others is to nominate others, and then beck the nominees of other citizens.

Like I said I think your clouding the proposal, the people you've added should all be proposed separately (unless the curator agrees to a mass vote), at the least they should be proposed separately form previous holders of the robe.

Sod the wrangling. I'll open a thread for each of the four nominees, and people can support or not as they wish.

There's no problem with the original four, it's the other 5 (below) =Eclipse= has added to the ticket, with no examples of why they should get the reward,. Added to the fact that proposing members who previously had the philosophers robe with members who didn't is likely to cause problems in a vote.

    Zenith Darksea
    Seneca
    Siblesz
    Tostig
    Oldgamer

Which also, by the by isn't mentioned in the thread title. To be frank it looks like =Eclipse= is just pulling names out of a hat, which is a disservice to the extra five.

Then let us deal with those once the original four are out of the way. A couple of weeks' delay isn't going to hurt anyone.

That would be my suggestion as well.

Just noticed Sibz is in both lists.

Ok ok I'll scrap this as the original proposal, as it seems Pannonian prefers to spread it all out over the proth. This will be a thread for nominating an extra batch of people.
And no Halie, they're not out of hat, I went back to my opifex proposal before the Phalera award was introduced, and found those who were going to be in the original proposal, those who had accumulated a large number of supporters, and added those.

even if you use a single thread for nominating, there should be multiple voting threads... me and SR conclusively gave up on finding a decent way to do those Team Opifex awards, both the voting methods we used during our times in office were flawed.
