    Default EB 1.0: Teaser 4

    Greetings Europa Barbarorum fans.

Once again, another little teaser for all you fans who cannot wait for 1.0 to be released. If you can wait, we hope this changes your mind.

Thanks goes to Kampfkrebs for the great teaser trailer. To Stefan25, blank, Seydlitz, Spartan_Warrior, spirit_of_rob, Shogo, Aymar de Bois Mauri for their work on the units previewed here, and to all members who helped research the units, their names and descriptions.

    Teaser Trailer: From the Desert
Kampfkrebs has been working diligently on a new line of videos for faction intros. We wanted to show off his talent as soon as possible. So here is the fourth of a number of teaser trailers he has made for us.

You can watch on Youtube, or you can download a high quality version from our ftp.

    The Units of Saba:
    ARABIAN LEVIES:

Bnei Shevet Aravim (Arabian Light Infantry)
The Bnei Shevet Aravim are not much to look at, clad in simple attire and armed with the most rudimentary of weapons, a spear and shield, but they are far more capable soldiers than first glance would indicate.

    Qala'im Arabim (Arabian Slingers)
In battle slingers are used as light skirmishers, troops with no armour or melee weapons but who rush forward against the enemy to pepper them with stones, only to flee when threatened.

Giusim Aravim Tsfonim (Arabian Light Archer-Spearmen)
Equipped with bows and spears, these men are able to provide an army with ranged support while still capable of quickly switching to light spearmen.

    Erķnamesh ana-Arabim (East Coast Levies)
These raiders and pirates dominate the military stage of Eastern Arabia around Gerrha and historical Oman. In nature, they are pirates able to conduct warfare in the desert as light infantry.

Giusim Aravim 'im Garzenim (Red Sea Light Infantry)
Armed with the traditional balta harbiye, a double edged axe, and light wickerwork and leather shields, the Giusim Aravim 'im Garzenim form a light and unruly levy.

Parashim Aravim Meguiasim (Arabian Light Cavalry)
Armed with javelin and sheild, the Parashim Aravim Meguiasim Levies provide a highly skilled light cavalry contingent exceedingly capable in the roles of skirmishing, pursuit, and harassment.

    CITIZEN SOLDIERS:

    Sabean Archers (Sabean Archers)
Sabaean archers are a common sight in Sabaean garrisons and large armies. They carry nothing but their own clothes and bows to war in addition to a small shield and dagger should they be caught in melee.

    Dorkim Ezra'him (Sabaean Levy Spearmen)
Raised from the urban population of Sabaean society, these men, armed with spears and shields, are the bedrock of the Sabaean military machine.

    Lo'hamim Azzilim (Sabean Noble Infantry)
Lo'hamim Azzilim are armored in good quality padded armour, tough leather shields and armed with spears. These men can be relied on to hold their own against all but the best heavy infantry.

    Giborei haMele'h (Sabaean Bodyguard Infantry)
These King's Elites, though devoted to the Sabaean High Priesthood and their ancient city-gods, are personally loyal to their king.

    Abbir Ezra'him (Sabean Medium Cavalry)
Raised from the urban population of Sabaean society, this veteran cavalry corps has close ties to the Priesthood and fights raiders and marauding tribes almost as a way of life.

    ETHIOPIAN LEVIES:

    Aithiopikoi Toxotai (Ethiopian Archers)
Skirmishers form the backbone of any Ethiopian army, especially bowmen. Hunting being an important part in Ethiopian life, at least in the interior plains and mountains means there is no shortage of able archers to call upon from the Ethiopian lands.

    'Hanatim Kushim (Ethiopian Light Spearmen)
These spearmen can be expected to do their job well as light line infantry, but their lack of armor means they will have problems facing heavier equipped infantry.

    Aithiopikoi Machairophoroi (Ethiopian Swordsmen)
These men are the elite among Ethiopian troops, and can be expected to fulfil their role as assault infantry as long as properly used.

    Aithiopikoi Hippeis (Ethiopian Cavalry)
These cavalrymen are drawn from these peoples and are often recruited from the higher ends of Ethiopian society, the families of the nobles and priests.

And to lead the armies of the Saba, the Lesser General and Family Member:

Saba were great fun before, looks like they will be even better now. If only I can hide from the AS for a bit longer this time...

With the conversion of the inter "Arabia" province to unconquerable, the Seleucids take much longer before they attack you. Last time I tested Saba, I was the one who first started the war.

Well it's about time! Geez I was so getting tired of that huge chunk of the Arabian desert turning Silver and/or Gold!
Under the patronage of Basileos Leandros I

That's good to hear. I had a rough time going further out with Saba as both Ptolemy and Seleucid wore me down preventing my expansion.

Will Saka get anything new (I think you previewed a general earlier, but will there be anything else)?
