CTD when you fight a battle.

Works fine with vanilla. But DLV always crash when there is a battle fought for me.

I installed brittania and teutonic with patches etc and both work fine afaik, not like DLV5.1 wich crashes in turn 1 if i dont reinstall it every time i load savegame or start a new one.

For now i only got 1 question... Teutonic famaly tree disabled ...WAD?

@Kassandros. The crash to desktop on the Mongol turn was probably the CTD bug on the death of the Mongol king. Try installing the new 1.2 Upgrade and see if that fixes you up. It's save compatible with DLV TK 1.1.

I played around with britania & teutonic campaigns and noticed the pikemen suck compared to DLV5.1.
In 5.1 they dont have a secondary weapon so they use the pike all the time wich makes them a little less anoying to play with. in Brittania and teutonic they still got swords and if i issue a attack command they pull them out and get killed...

I find the 5.1 solution better

Hi! I have problems with the Britannia 1.2d campaing map. Apparently every text on the screen is not where it's supposed to be.
here is the look of the campaing map:




BTW, I tried to save the game, and reload it but didn't worked. Maybe I have a bad installation.
I'm downloading Teutonic's right now, will tell you if I found the same problem.

PS: My Kingdoms folder is not in the default installation folder but I pointed the installer and patch correctly into my Kingdoms my folder.

HERES THE SOLUTION (given before for britannia thx to Harry Lime)

use the unpacker that is in Medieval II Total War\tools\unpacker
use the unpack_teutonic
then change the name of the files in Medieval II Total War\mods\dlv_teutonic_knights\data\ui
named "shared.xx strategy.xx and battle.xx for shared.bak strategy.bak and battle.bak

that must fix it

Empedocles - search for the kingdom of the scots thread then search for a user called Bruce (or maybe on the first page) find the text solver problem and download it. It is a text folder that needs to go into the MTW2 Data folder that is normally compressed and needs to be expanede in order to work. Bruce has expanded it and has made the folder available for download

thanks! but I solved renaming the files battle.xxx shared.xxx and strategy.xxx in the Mods/dlv_british_isles/data/UI into battle.bak shared.bak and strategy.bak AND copying the text folder you mention.

Great to hear! t was a while ago I fixed my same problem with Kingdom of the Scots, (hence the woolly search instructions!) THEN found the same problem with DLV Britannia - so they must share some similar code! Anyway glad it all worked out!

The DLV_Britannia_1_2e_Upgrade.exe (aka the DLV Britannia Yuletide patch) has been posted!

This latest upgrade fixes all the reported problems (and some not reported ) including:

--Barons Alliance achieves a hard won victory by defeating the English and gets a "You Lost" screen... Fixed Baron's Alliance is now a fully independent faction which does not shadow England. Previously if England was eliminated, so was the Baron's Alliance...this made winning as the Baron's Alliance *cough* impossible. Now the Baron's Alliance can safely take down the English. One consequence is that English/Baron's Alliance towns that rebel will now revert to the slave (rebel) faction. No biggie, since both English & Baron's Alliance have lots of starting regions.
--Missing text from your summary screen, diplomatic screens, battle screens etc. -- Fixed Text folder added to your M2TW/data folder
--Merchants don't report any income...lazy stiffs! -- Fixed Text folder added to your M2TW/data folder
--White boxes (apparently not refrigerators) seen in battles Fixed Corrected the .SD files...also fixes huge text boxes on strategic map and other weird UI problems
--Missing Ancillary trigger for Plymouth -- Fixed
--"A Irish Princess..." changed to "An Irish Princess..." and many other text problems Fixed
