    Default Roads

Not the island and swap faction
umm i read somewhere (i can't find it now) that the plan was that the steppes will not be able to build roads and that nomad generals will have a trait 'Nomad +25% movement'
Is this still going to happen as the post was old

also im thinking about arabia here mainly.. i don't feel stone roads through a constantly moving desert is all that realistic, right? i dont know.
i think ill leave this open to full debate if people want to.

Northern Ranger is working on the Map now, so maybe he can take care of that.

i agree with pseudocaesar here, i dont like how most of north africa is attached to one province halfway along the coast. I also dont like how arabia is conquerable at the moment, and also i thought we were scrapping ireland as a region?
I personally like the idea of all the above becoming part of a region called "Regions unconquerable" or its latin equivalent, or maybe "regions unconquerable" given a latin spin like "regionalis vidi"? maybe thats a cr*p idea...

terra incognita, is i believe the term used in lots of mods - it means "unknown (read: unexplored) land" - this works, simply because it's just endless desert really, and you couldn't really trek through it and map it, could you?

Apart from the Sahara, Arabia and Ireland, where else should be put into this one province?
I was thinking about northern Scandanavia, Finland and northern Russia

Scandinavia\Norway would be good, but I would prefer the mainland steppes and Russia be left in. The Germans go that way all the time, and there are few regions up there anyway.

This is a good idea, because I already have a good use for this 'unconquerable' place. I think, anyway, there may be a way to double the usefulness of a model by using the 'merc.' entry to create another unit. But sometimes, you won't want it to be really a merc. So I can put that 'fake' merc as available only in the unconquerable region.

    Just testing now...

that makes no sense to me but it sure sounds good!
also just wondering if the whole no roads in steppes thing is happening or not?

The roads issue is a tricky one. I have to use the AOR to restrict where they can be built, and sometimes get errors saying a faction has a gap in the building tree. I try and fix this...
