Definitely a new regions and AOR map will be formed once BC 1.0 is released. Although thats off-topic.
IS Sindh going to be in the 1st release?
Some General Info:
The Sindhis are ruled by a local native family called the "Soomro". They were a Rajput clan that converted to Islam after the Arab invasion and occupation in the 600s. Their religion is Islam and their names are a mix of old native hindu/sindhi names along with new Islamic names too. They were culturally very Indian and still have large hindu populaces (including their units) in their lands although the Soomro rulers were Islamic - and even Shi'ite for a time.
Previously under Ghaznavid vassalage they are now independent again but face serious threats from the mighty Rajput States in the east and the fiercesome Ghorids in the north. Also Oman and Ghaznavids threaten their western approaches and their shipping lanes. Being a minor faction without much heavy armour they will be a challenge indeed.

Yeah, the Sindhis. Apparently, they inherited a lot more than just the religion from the Arabs. If you go back further though, Sindh has strong linkages with the Persian empire and Sindhi is derived from ancient Persian. In Sindh, most of the people are very dark-skinned but there are still Sindhi people of Persian origin here.
About the Arab influence, Sindhis adopted trade and other Arab cultural traits such as marrying a lot of women. The province is still a feudal one.
I agree with AlphaDelta about Sindh being a minor faction because Sindhi nationals never really conquered unlike their Pashtun countrymen to the north. In fact, during the British era, Sindh was linked with Bombay as a single administrative division, such was its economic insignificance.
Oh and since you people haven't mentioned it yet, Thatta, Aror and Shikarpur were perhaps the foremost cities in Medieval Sindh.
Although you've probably made the roster now, I'd suggest adding camel units and light cavalry since Sindh is mostly a desert. Just keep in mind the vast Arab influence and the intense climate of the region and you can't go wrong.

great job guys. i already knew that when ya'll released a "tenative" release date it wasn't gonna happen. i knew eastern roman empire would be included as well as more factions to fill the voids in the map and it will be incredibly worth it. looking forward to taking the initial release and making it kingdoms compatible with a few more "extras". mirage you will be updated as the initial release is done. ;-)

Sindh's roster was already partially made, much of it being part of other rosters, namely the Rajputs and Ghazni, both of which had massively bloated rosters containing units they should never of done. I have made some notes:
The Rajputs roster that I created was far too bloated. They had mail armour at tier 1, huge amounts of AP (armour piercing weapons), strong middle tier cavalry, and a wide range of elephants. This representation was not only making them too strong, it was also very inaccurate historically speaking.
Hence some changes have been made to apply uniqueness to the rajputs and sindh.
The Rajput noble cavalry (not the Kshatriya) was Muslim-indian inspired (early moghul period sources were used). Therefore Sindh will now recruit this unit and their name has been changed to "Jagir" cavalry. The Rajputs will lack medium tier cavalry having to rely on elephants instead, this we feel is a much more accurate representation.
The unit at the top of this thread, had originally been made for the Rajputs from the "Sindhi horseman" picture found in an osprey book, therefor as you can see I re-worked this unit and have given it to sindh both mounted and dismounted. It was logical to give this unit to the Rajputs, but now we have Sindh they will have sole access.
The Punjabi javelinmen and javelincavalry, along with a new punjabi spearman unit have all been given to Sindhi. The first 2 originally were part of Ghazni's bloated roster, the latter originally being a merc. Again Ghazni in it's starting position did not warrant access to this unit.
The light levy Indian archers have been given longbows, they are now hindu longbows, and are available throughout India. Many small artistic changes have been made to hindu longbowmen and the other Indian levies including trousers, mustaches, turbans, new shields etc etc.
Sindh will likely be the last faction to recieve a full roster, with the estimated unit count being roughly 15. After Sindh the direction we take is likely one of adding in remaining minor factions that don't warrant large rosters.
Cheers

Another new faction! Wow at the start i thought that the map was really underpopulated with only 17 factions. I love the concept because this is the part of the map Im gonna be playingv most.

Analysis should not be diverted by reflections upon the zeal with which the victors at the end of the Second World War punished the defeated for war crimes. The victors were animated by the ideals of the Atlantic Charter and of the United Nations. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was about to peep over the eastern horizon. But first, they wanted a little hanging.
that's great news

Well, wouldn't you know! Another faction! The time has come when I'm not really surprised any more. Still loving it though!
Maybe you'll have time do some minor Syrian factions as well (with a shared unit list), here's just hoping.
