Uninstalling issues

Hello,

I am having trouble re-installing medieval 2. I patched up to 1.2, and recently uninstalled the game however when I now try to re-install it refuses to saying that I have to first remove the 1.2 version to allow the 1.0 version from the box to install on my machine.

Help please!

I have uninstalled medieval 2, used the search function on XP to find all files and then delete them, even deleting all sega folders and files on my machine, all to no avail.

Does anyone know the location of any hidden or obscure save files etc which may be hindering re-installation? I've tried spybot and adaware and my PC looks virus free

Go into Control Panel/Add Remove Programs and make sure both the original 1.0 game and the 1.2 patch have been removed.
