Para servir y conquistar, which means "to serve and conquer" is my first AAR of the Reconquista custom campaign in Lands To Conquer ( Thankyou Lusted) and I will be playing as the Spaniards on H/M (I find Medieval 2's combat system bias
). Bare in mind, this is one of the first times i've played Medieval 2 as i prefered Rome, but decided to pick it up again.
Chapter 1 - The Moorish Scum
King Alfonso had kept a firm grip on his Empire for some time now. The Moorish Barbarians had been loitering in the Iberian Peninsula for long enough. It was time to take what was rightfully his.
The brave king knew however, it was sensible to only be at war on the one front in the south, and that portugal could be one of his most helpful and greatest Allies.
Alfonso Called for his Army in Teledo, the castle he was currently residing, and began to march to Valencia. The march would take a fair few years, but he knew it was what he ultimatley had to do. He knew not, whether the Scum had already got there or not though.
Alfonso was not able to win this war with his current military, so he had relied upon mercernaries to help him in this Reconquest.
More and more people started to hear about his cause, and joined his rightful army and looked upon him as their warlord.

A year had passed, and Valencia was in their reach. Alfonso could smell the infidel, they were drawing nearer.
Back in Leon, General Damien Ynfante, the adopted son of Prince Vermundo, was running the city and his finances and had sent a diplomat to seek an alliance with the portugese.
The diplomat came back bearing good news, They had accepted gladfully.

Alfonso and his men had finally reached Valencia, however, they were faced with a suprise. A moorish army had already besieged the settlement. He saw this as an oppurtinity to wait, get some rest and give his men a deserved rest. He would wait till the Moorish army had worn down the settlement, therefore he did not have to do it himself. The Moorish army itself contained the Faction heir. Alfanso was looking forward to impaling his head on a pike.
Another year had passed and Alfonso saw his oppurtunity to strike.
The great King took his army near Valencia and sent some scouts as bait, His plan was clearly coming together.
Startled, the Moorish barbarians had no choice! they had no time to take the city walls and defend the imperior spanish army from the town itself.
The Battle of Valencia
The Organised Spanish army began to advance towards the Moorish Rabbles.
Alfonso ordered his Missile Cavalry to the right flank of the enemy to ware down the spearmen.
As the Cavalry drew closer, an enemy cavalry unit appeared through the trees to the left and charged toward the missile cavalry.
With haste, the fast spanish horses withdrew from the position, hurling javelins as they go.
Four enemy horses went down with in a few volleys, and then realising the impossibilites of catching up, the enemy cavalry returned to their own ranks.
Alfonsos archers stood in the center, causing it to rain arrows upon the middle of the enemy prince's army. It was then, the Moorish cavalry charged at the horses. they had fallen straight into his trap, the archers quickly withdrew, and the spearmen who were hidden from the moorish view, Lunged out and charged the enemy cavalry.
When the archers had stationed themselves behind the melee of the Spears and horses, they opened Fire on a unit of spearmen which were about to back the cavalry.
Then, Alfonso sent his Cavalry and Swords around each side of the remaining Moors, Both charged leaving a devestating trail of destruction.
Once the remaining moors had been destroyed, the enemy prince charged his unit round the back of Alfonso's Cavalry destroying mostly the best portion of his army.
However, the superiour number of spaniards was too much for the young prince to bear, so he retreated with his remaining troops.
The Spanish chased the barbarians for a long while and both sides were getting tired. The Prince was almost too far away to catch up, but the missile cavalry proved to be some of the fastest nobles in the whole of the Iberian Peninsula.
Although they had caught up, the cowardly prince had made it away safely and unscathed.
The Spanish archers, which had stayed back with the king, stumbled upon a group of lost souls.
Poor Bastard would have never stood a chance.
After little loss, Alfonso had claimed the day and the Prince had retreated back to the south.
Alfonso then went on to assault the castle, and claim maybe another victory for glorious Spain!
