Idea for a international treaty

I have an Idea for an international treaty it would be called Detection Of Dangorus Extra Terrestial Objects Treaty the Idea

Its goals would be to;
1). Have all signers spend at least 10 million dollars a year on telescopes to watch the skies for Asteroids, and comets.
2). To form an orginzation from which the information of the Telescopes could be relayed for analyztion if any comets or asteroids have been spotted in vicinity of earth
3.) Finally to develop plans for possible deflection or destruction measures of objects that are determined to pose a threat to earth.

... what purpose would this solve? Merely international cohesion, or is there a danger from comets that cannot be eradicated by individual countries that I'm not aware of?:hmmm:

WelI don't like Libertarians, however I do hate Objectivists.


Getting back to point it create a centralised location from which reports ion comets could be sent to and anaylysed for possible threats to earth.

I'd prefer if it was by Private Groups instead of the Government....

3. Plan already exists, the US plans include launching a nuclear bomb at the asteroid/comet and detonating it in proximity of the asteroid, with the concussion changing its course (even a few degrees change would avert disaster)

Living on the edge?
That's kind of like waiting until the enemy throws a nuke at you to start to develope a military, though.
It's always a good idea to have something in place, just in case.
