i need help on how to find and remove the pilas on legionary scutum from their cas files??
You need 3dsmax and Vercingetorix' cas importer/exporter. Once you have those, you need only import the model, highlight the shield (the pilum are likely attached to the shield), press five to go to object select, and highlight/delete the pilum. Then export the new cas file (the rigging should still all be in place, so no need to worry about weighting etc.), and place that new cas file in game. Alternativly you could just overwrite the old cas file when you export, but I wouldn't recommend this in case you make a mistake the first time through.
can you direct me to where i could download a 3dsmax????
You can download the trial version from Autodesk's website.
the trial version works as well as the full version??
Couldn't just alpha them out and alter the edu entry??
Well, if he wants to remove the pilum entirely. I was reading the question as just removing it from the shield but retaining it as a primary weapon, in which case alpha would remove the weapon as well.
Maybe I took the question too literally, though.
For 30 days, yes.the trial version works as well as the full version??
you got my question correctly..its just the pilum on the back of the shield...
My guess is that you haven't removed all of the Pilum, there's a lose vertices somewhere.
theres only two pilums on the scutum right and cas's are high, low, lowess and emd. i thought ive removed it from all of the four?? sure there arent any?? what vertices did miss???:hmmm:
Try only editing the highest model and use that for all four 'lods', see if the problem is still there, you can run the game with only one lod per model, if you want to use the others just try them all one at a time.
can i ask you what difference of the four cas files??
The first one is the most detailed model which you'll see if you zoom into a battle, as you zoom out the less detail is needed so the models become simpler until you get to the furthest distance you can, then the unit turns into a sprite which is a 2d image, it makes the game run smoothly on higher setting.
Bear in mind that when RTW was released basic computers were often much lower spec than they are now, these days most can handle RTW just using the highest models and sprites, the other three can be replaced by the highest model.
i put back in my back ups and tried editing it again only this time i only imported the high cas file.. and it work.. thanks man....
What happens when the computer cant handle RTW with only the high cas and sprites?? and i think it says in the box that RTW requires only 1.0GHz processor????
If it can't handle it you'll get lag, which means the game will slow down in battles.
what kind of computers that could not handle it??? do only dual core handle it??
