    Default Adding Events

    Hi,

Has any one ever added an event? I want to do eras, and I have seen one way to do it with Zaph’s eras mod in the EDB with event counters. However I want to do it with buildings, core buildings in particular, which will translate into eras for all buildings and units. But, I don’t want to use Mongol warnings as my mod’s time scale starts around 950 AD.

I see events invoked by way of descr_events, but there has to be more to it than me just adding my own thing in there with nothing else. If it is that simple, great, if not any one have a sample event or know the ins and outs, has a resource .. it would be appreciated.

    never mind, found it. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=92185

BTW, that works pretty well for eras, if any one is intrested, sample from my EDB ...

    Code:
    stone_wall city requires factions {<snip> } and event_counter first_windmill 1
I used the built in events and adjusted the dates, will hassel with new events and bin files some other day.

One thing this does is limit buildings and consequently units. But, hopefully, since the AI will not be able to build the next largest settelment, it may just build the infrastructure stuff it generally ignores.

The scripting tutorial in my script-o-rama is basically adding a new event, you might want to check it out.

No thing is everything. Every thing is nothing.

    Hi,

Yeah. I read that. Good info. Also a way to make other things happen with the event(s). On another note, I saw the button command hook for events, may ask a question or two on that in a few days.
