Default [Dead] Greek Cities Total War

This topic is for Greek Cities Total War mod:

this mod will make playable in the game the most important greek cities in the 300 B.C. . The greek cities which will be aviable are: Sparta, Athens, Corinth, Pergamun, Syracuse and Crete. For every greek city there will be some special units... for example for sparta there will be: normal spartan hoplite, armoured spartan hoplite and spartan real guard and spartan militia, for corinth sacred band hoplites(took with permises from extended greek mod), armoured corinthian hoplites and normal corinth hoplites.... i will public a complete list about the units.....The map will be very nice too, with a lot of greek cities(not only greek)..... For this mod i work with CAMPVS-CAESAR.... we will public informations about units, maps and more soon...

My mod is diffent: it takes 300 B.C. to 200 A.D.; it is about the era in which the greek cities were weak and the must defend themself from the macedonian reign and the fast roman espansion....

Well... good luck with that, though I don't really see the point of it when you're only changing the time frame a couple hundred years. :hmmm:

Thank you for your evidently well informed facts. Wheres the Ignore post option?

That is centered around Macedonia and the Satraps... this is centered around the Greek cities. Clearly it is exactly the same.

Not only that but Syracuse is not even in Polemarchia.

To fully get all the greek colonies I believe your map will need to extend from Spain to Asia Minor. Did the Spartans use Militia?

Syracuse is going to be in Polemarchia. Polemarchia is about 550-370BC, so it's not a mod about the successors and the Hellenistic age.

I think you haven't understood well... ehm ehm.... THIS IS NOT THE SAME THING OF POLEMARCHIA BECAUSE:
    1. polemarchia is for med2
    2. polemarchia has different factions
    3. polemarchia is in a different period
    4. The map will be the normal RTW map with added some cities (greek overall)

the factions of this mod are:
Crete, Pergamun, Syracuse, Athens, Sparta, Corinth, Epirus, Rom, Macedon, Gauls, Germans, Spain, Carthaginians, Egypt, Parthia, Armenia, Pontus, Seleucid, Numidia.

I just read your first post in MTW2 threads - about your extensive modding skills:
corinth sacred band hoplites(took with permises from extended greek mod)
about your extensive history knowledge shown in the unit list:
for sparta there will be: normal spartan hoplite, armoured spartan hoplite and spartan real guard and spartan militia, for corinth sacred band hoplites(took with permises from extended greek mod), armoured corinthian hoplites and normal corinth hoplites
    so shut up
    i won't

I will take it as a joke. Do you want to bet?

I hate people of low category like you
We are developing a mod, we are not killing anyone, we are not stealing ideas, we are not insulting anyone. I really don't see how people could insult us and demoralize like Uranos, criticizing must be constructive and helpfull, not to destroy others projects... I'm very disappointed

Do you think you can insult whoever you want? Do you know that we are working hardly for this mod being only two beginners modders, of 15 and 16 years old? I don't think it's a problem if a mod is similar to another one, (that it's not actually our case), there are lots and lots of mods that focus all in the same period... And if you think its a boring thread, only because we are beginners and maybe you think theres no place for beginners, well remember that you are free to ignore this thread.
Thanks for who support us , we won't quit

    very great ambitions...
you must be very very very good at modding to create a new map so new factions... and I don't think you know about ortus romanus or EB2

The way Uranos phrased it was pretty rude but his actual point is valid. Before starting a project, I suggest you two (or whoever the beginners you refer to) should practice and hone your skills by joining one of the many mod projects out there. There you will be able to not only enhance your skills but pick up on the structure of mods, how mods should be developed, and you learn a lot about working with other people.

And since your already working with a team, your mod is far less likely to die. Having a team of beginners usually doesn't translate to anything (not to say it can't). I suggest you guys join another team and then when you have gained experience and know what it takes to do modding really, then go ahead and create a project. That project will then be a lot more successful from the experience you have gathered in your work with others.

I assumed when your friend CAMPVS-CAESAR said "Do you know that we are working hardly for this mod being only two beginners modders, of 15 and 16 years old?" that he was refering to himself and you, correct?

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding what your trying to say, my apologies if so.

If you want people to stop doubting a mod thread from two beginners who seem to have never done a mod before, post some progress and previews.
RIP Calvin, you won't be forgotten.
