My new favorite faction.

It was bound to happen and this is a big event, given my blatant obsession with the Ghaznavid sultunate. My new favorite faction has now become... The Ghorids! Wewt! Just working with so many awesome screenshots of them and their units has made me fall in love with them. The rugged, completely simple military feel of them and the dark gritty feel of their units is one of the coolest things I have ever come across. They remind me of the commandos in the game "Republic Commando". So, here's the the Ghorids!

By the way, I think they should get an overview of their units in the "The Units" thread so we can all see each of their amazing awesomeness.

LOL. You must have had a divine experience! Yes they are an extremely fun faction with quite a hell of a roster. It combines pretty much the best of AD's units with the cream of Strelac's Ghulam warriors. They are essentially the "vikings" of the mideast as far as style is concerned. And yes I do think I'll do a faction preview for them when I get the chance.

Indeed it was a divine experience. Another thing I love is all the face masks! I'm a sucker for mouth/nose covering masks when it comes to medieval or ancient troops. In regards to the viking comment, perhaps that's another reason I've come to love them. I'm a Swede and descended from vikings.

Though my love for the Ghaznavids hasn't died, it has merely been overshadowed. In my campaign I will most likely ally with the Ghaznavids or at least let them build up and expand for a while before attacking them.

Ok, given myself a few moments to recover from the 'glow' of "amazing animations" and now these screenshots, and I concur! I'm a sucker for face masks too but even with this, my loyalties still lie with the Romans. Always and forever. Still, perty!

Just kidding, I'm too nice of a guy to do that. I'd just occupy it and try and make the people happy.

I have really come to the realisation that BC will be upon us in the near future (meaning maybe 2 months) and that has really bated my apetite!
