    Default Changing Victory Conditions.

    'lo,

I finally got hold of a copy of RTR in which the campaign works (my previous copy was downloaded from the old RTR site, which apparantly is bad?) -
and I have to say, it's brilliant. Can't wait for 7.0.

However, I was wondering if there's any way to change the victory conditions? My first problem was starting a 'short' campaign as Carthage, and noticing I had to destroy the Slaves&Rebels faction. Obviously, this is as good as impossible, unless a specific region/sect is meant (ie Rebels:moorish rebels etc).

A second one was one or two factions located in eastern europe (around thrace/macedon etc) having to destroy Bactria - a faction they probably wouldn't come into contact with.
In the case of Macedon I don't understand why they need to defeat a subsection of the Seleucids (which is what Bactria technically is), rather than the closer Ptolemies or Seleucids proper.

I tend to play short campaigns, if that's relevant to the solution.

    Thanks in advance.

Then I weighed him I said, “Holy ****!” because he weighs 900,000,000,000,000,000 tons. That amazing weight made me say the “S” word.

What version of RTR do you have? RTR 6 Gold or RTRPE? And if it is the latter is it v1.9?

Some of the short victory conditions don't make much sense. The reason for this is that the new factions 'took on' the victory conditions of the factions that they replaced.

Unfortunately, for RTR 6 Gold this is hard-coded. I am sure florin will be able to advise if this is also the case for RTR PE.

Fortunately, in RTW v1.5 and hence in RTRPE they can be changed. So, if you have RTRPE edit the file descr_win_conditions from
    Rome - Total War\Data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign
If you have RTRPE v1.9 you`ll probably also have to edit the identical file from this location :
    Rome - Total War\Data\world\maps\campaign\barbarian_invasion

    Note:
    thrace is bactria
    britons are illyrians
