i have dicided to mod my game abit i have no knowledge what so ever thought basically
I want to change factions name and maybe join a few factions together
swap units for diffenrt factions.

How would i do this?

Factions

Roman empire (julii. brutii, scpii, spqr)
Greek empire [macedon, seliecids, greek cities)
Barbarian warlords ( britsh, gauls germanic tribes)


I would like to know how to make banners and units and stuff aswell actually

See here. What you need to do is actually delete one faction and give all (cities/units) to the one you want to keep, then rename it to what you want.
