Help me please, i have been looking forward to a short break in the sun and fly out tomorrow. I had planned to take my work laptop with me so i would not miss out on game time, i was also going to start a new Spain campaign while on location, but my work PC had just been nicked!....disaster...!

I have only got books as a back up, my beloved wench and my fourth mounth old esquire do not understand my disappointment and i need ideas.

Can anyone suggest any ideas of how i can keep in from going mad?

So far i have the following books to help keep me on track

Conn Iggulden Wolf of the Plains
    Bernard Cornwell The Pale Horsemen
    The last Templar Raymond Khoury

They won't allow swords on planes........I checked, easy jet said that they think i have been playing games to much!
There are two kinds of officers, sir: killin' officers and murderin' officers. Killin' officers are poor old buggers that get you killed by mistake.

Murderin' officers are mad, bad, old buggers that get you killed on purpose - for a country, for a religion, maybe even for a flag!

then lure the fish smelling romans into a bridge battle near venezia and LAYETH
    THE
    SMACKETH
    DOWNETH

on imaginary armys on said atlas/world globe

Get a ladyfriend. Mine is amazing aid at reducing my MTW2 (and any other game) addiction.

Everyone is warhero, genius and millionaire in Internet, so don't be surprised that I'm not impressed.

He has a ladyfriend and a 4 month old child (from what I've understood of the post above).

What he doesn't have is access to his empire to conquer the world!

My suggestion is to get online and find a nice medieval shop in the place you are visiting and go there and pretend you live in the middle ages!

I work behind a PC all day in the office but can't play as am working, when i get home its all babies and other responsibilities limiting game time. But a holiday with no relitives to disturb means plenty of almost unspoilt gaming.

With the laptop i could have taken a campaign to another level....call it extreme Medieval Total War, there is even a castle ruin in the town we are going to that was built be the moors. Imagine the pleasure of destroying them pesky muslims while actually sitting in one of their stronholds.

    here is a pic

I might cry now.....like my last crusade it was such a good plan to start with!

Of course you could always read Sun Tzu's "Art of War". Not immediately the most interesting book (even thoug I enjoyed reading it). You might learn some new strategies to take down your enemies even quicker, so you would use your limited game time more efficiently

Read a good history book from the period. Imagine doing what they are doing in the game.

If you want to blow your mind, and shatter your faith in Jesus if you have any, read a history of Byzantium. Church and state, war and peace, it is a wild ride.

Go without it. I changed my religion, made random wooden objects and finished 3 series of books I was reading.
