    As i posted in another topic, you could try this, but i don't know if it'll work (it's actually how it worked with RTW)

    select your Medieval 2 desktop shortcut, right click and then select properties. In the dialog box that opens you need to position your cursor in the “Target” box and add the “ -movie_cam” on the end of your existing command line
    if it worked, then when you load a replay file, the editor should start.

    Thanks. I tried what you said, but get message that the path is invalid. If I place your statement outside the quotes I get a fatal error on launch. Any other ideas?
    Also, exactly what is the "launcher" for? it's a whole new shortcut and way into the game but I can't see what for.

    From the patch readme:
    ______________________________________________________________________

    Cinematic Editor

    This tool is unsupported by either Creative Assembly or Sega, it is
    provided as is and there are no guarantees that it is free from bugs.

    To run the Cinematic Editor you must create a new config file with any
    filename (e.g. CineEd.cfg) and launch medieval2.exe with the following
    command line switch:

    Medieval2.exe @CineEd.cfg

    The Config file must contain the following:

    [video]

    windowed = true

    movies = false

    tga_width = 800 #tga capture size

    [capture_tga]

    fps = 20

    [misc]

    tga_front_buffer_capture = true

    [audio]

    disabled = true

    [cine]

    show = true

    width = 800

    height = 600

    [replay]

    play = true

    file = replays/replay.rpy

    camera = cameras/cam1.cam #default camera to load

    #The file will also need to contain one or both of these options:

    [cine]

    capture = true #captures the movie as .tga files using the default camera (required)

    avi = true #use this if you want an AVI instead of .tga files

    Thanks! But how do I "launch medieval2.exe with the following
    command line switch: Medieval2.exe @CineEd.cfg"?

    You have to create a .bat file. Just create a new text file and rename it to whatever you want, but with .bat at the end. For example, I would create a text file and rename it to m2tw.bat. Next, right click the new .bat file, click edit, then put in "Medieval2.exe @CineEd.cfg" (without the quotation marks of course). Now just use this .bat file to launch the game.

    PS, sorry if this was hard to understand. I'm not very good at explaining things.

    Do I have to put all this, in the .bat file also?

    No, that goes into the .CFG file.

    The .BAT file only needs to contain:
    Medieval2.exe @CineEd.cfg

    Obviously, your .CFG file needs to be named CineEd.cfg for this to work

    Well you need to make sure that what you put for this part in the .cfg:

    file = replays/replay.rpy

    Is the name of the replay you've saved.

    Okay have you got the unofficial patch 1.2? And are you trying to run this from a mod folder?

    yea, i'm running 1.2 and i tried to run it from a mod folder and it would go passed the first screen without ctd. so i ran vanilla and saved a replay from their and it loads and everything and right when the screen goes to the editor it just closes.

    Hmm didn't work for me. Did everything I'm suppose to do.
    -Make .bat
    -Make .ctf
    -All correctly "pasted" in

    It started up for a bit but then it suddenly close.
