Ghost Units
I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a way of getting the proper textures for foreign units that have been "creat_unit"-ed?? I want to use a variety of units but with most of them being white it just gets annoying!!

Re: Ghost Units
The reason why they are "ghostly" is because your faction doesn't have the correct textures for that unit.

Re: Ghost Units
Moved to Mod Workshop.
I believe you need to change or add some stuff in the modelsdb file.

Re: Ghost Units
You would need to make them available for other factions in the modeldb. Other factions would use the same textures though unless you make your own.
Lets take an example from the file (to make the it available for Spain):
1
5 Horse
13 MTW2_HR_Lance
13 MTW2_HR_Sword 2
21 MTW2_HR_Lance_Primary
14 fs_test_shield 2
18 MTW2_Sword_Primary
14 fs_test_shield
16 -0.090000004 0 0 -0.34999999 0.80000001 0.60000002
19 e_chivalric_knights
1 3
64 unit_models/_Units/EN_Pplate_Plate/e_chivalric_knights_lod0.mesh 121
64 unit_models/_Units/EN_Pplate_Plate/e_chivalric_knights_lod1.mesh 1225
64 unit_models/_Units/EN_Pplate_Plate/e_chivalric_knights_lod2.mesh 6400
2
7 hungary
74 unit_models/_Units/EN_Pplate_Plate/textures/mtw2_EN_Pplate_hungary.texture
73 unit_models/_Units/EN_Pplate_Plate/textures/mtw2_EN_Pplate_normal.texture
48 unit_sprites/hungary_NE_Bodyguard_ug1_sprite.spr
5 Spain
74 unit_models/_Units/EN_Pplate_Plate/textures/mtw2_EN_Pplate_hungary.texture
73 unit_models/_Units/EN_Pplate_Plate/textures/mtw2_EN_Pplate_normal.texture
48 unit_sprites/hungary_NE_Bodyguard_ug1_sprite.spr
Don't forget that the number before the faction must be the same as the amount of letters the word after it has.

Re: Ghost Units
Cheers guys but I have come across a few problems as whenever I go into a battle in comes up with an unspecific error so Iv have tried uninstalling it but when I re-install it, the files from the patches I downloaded before (and thought I had deleted) are still there which I think might be buggering me up!
I really need to get back to the basic files and if anyone knows how to get rid of them I would be very grateful!

Re: Ghost Units
Sounds like you've unpacked but not deleted the 2 descr_geography files.

Why would that make a difference??

Re: Ghost Units
Ignore that last post... I feel like a bit of a tit for thinking that un-installing the game would delete all the patch files!

Re: Ghost Units
Because when you unpack you need to delete those 2 files or the game will crash in battles, as stated in the unpacker readme.

Re: Ghost Units
Iv deleted them files and now I cant even start the game as it gets an unspecific error just after the first 'medieval' logo comes up. Iv read through the readme file and it says something about creating a batch file, which is probably why it wont start. However I dont have a clue how to do this, any help would be very well received!

Re: Ghost Units
I have somehow managed to create the batch file but the same thing keeps happening and I havent actually tried to mod any of the files yet!
Who knew it would be soo hard...
