I love this mod!

Repman, this is incredible work, and I just wanted to commend and thank you! I just got into DLV for the first time last night playing as the HRE, and for the first time since buying MTW2 and playing countless mods, actually lost a game vs the AI.

None of the usual bloodthirsty, backstabbing allies, suicidially crazy AI (although enemy generals still love to charge headfirst into my army- I think this is TW hardcoded as it's gone on since Medieval 1), just some bad moves on my part and the next thing I know, I'm being pinned in place by the Venetians (who I attacked) and watching my smaller outlying towns be captured one by one by the Poles, who brought a superior force to besiege me each time and then ACTUALLY WON in some of the tactical battles by taking advantage of their numbers, instead of just bunching up at the gate, standing there, and getting half its army shot away by my archers/towers.

I can finally enjoy this game and played til 3am last night

I'll be recommending DLV on the other message boards I frequent as well.

mic82, glad to see someone else lose to AI. Ha. I've been playing awhile, so i'm not new playing DLV. Been bet more than once. DLV RULES-THE KING.

Yeah I've been playing Total War since Shogun & the 'DLV Experience' is the only time that I've lost campaigns. You have to stay sharp people it's dangerous out there.

Same here Harry, this was my second major loss to the AI in any TW game (also was beaten pretty badly the first time I tried playing as the Sweboz in Europa Barbarorum back when it was still a pretty early project!) since the time when I was learning to play Medieval 1.

My favorite games are the ones I can lose at sometimes

My "Top 10 Favorite PC Games of All Time" list is full of those.

Which factions have you lost a full game with, Harry?

I've lost campaigns with Venice & Portugal. I also came very close to losing with England (the shame) as France, Flanders & Scotland all ganged up on me. Because I always play with land-bridges the channel was no defence & I had no navy to block troops coming across.

That was a strange campaign though. I lost London to the rebel army that spawns on the 2nd turn & that severely hindered me for decades. It probably turned out to be the English campaign I most enjoyed as well. I regained London & slowly beat back my enemies in the south & north. I made Scotland pay for their unwarranted aggression by reducing them to holding Inverness only & Flanders by turning them into my vassals!

Heh you deserve loss, if you not planning to block landbriges as potugal or england. Although i considering that as a cheat

I play Darth mod atm and seems he somehow fixed general charges in open field battles (not thru gates), i don't know really, but i like that proposal, i have bad time trying to kill general atm.
That behaviour should be infused into DLV, makes battles really harder (especialy since DLV generals always liek 10 stars it's would be great)

well why play a game if you ever won, wheres the fun?

so thats why dlv its so great, you win you're defeated this is realism, theres NONE army in the world wich have never been defeated

i've only lose 1 with denmark, because pope,hre,france,poland have formed alliance and attack in every direction, including call crusades against me ^_^

I lost campaigns playing the Crusades mod for RTW . One of the best mods for RTW if not the best. Anyway I have to try DLV it looks like a really cool mod.

yeah dlv definitely is the best mod ever imo--- been playing since you guys put out the first DLV--- the kingdoms things you guys have managed really improve the over all thing; cant wait to see what this team will do with empires in about 4 years
