adding character names and changing faction names

Hi everyone, i searched the forum but coulndt find any help on either adding a character name to the game or changing the faction names to my liking, for example i'd like to change the Lega Lombarda faction to just 'Milano', and add a character to that specific faction with my name.

is this possible?? thanks

I know how to add last names--- just find what the last name is that you intend to change--- then go to data/text/names.txt -- you will see names like thise (Burgess)Burgess

you only change the one outside of the box like (Burgess) Burgess to (Burgess) Pimpernel-- that should change the last name in game.

Thanks! is it save game capatible? i changed a few names in the file you mentioned to the ones i wanted, i.e. i changed in the Milan faction the surname 'Rossi' to Biagiotti. then when i load my game the characters that i already have are still named Rossi, names havnt changed. I started a new game to see if the names would be different but still Rossi.


Do i have to wait until a new "Rossi" is born so they can become a "Biagiotti"?
