I wanted to ask you a couple of questions since you state that the Bible is your sole guidance.

Can I sell my daughter into slavery as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7?

My wife insists on working on the Sabbath, Exodus 35:2, clearly says he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill her myself or is it okay to hire a contract killer?

I'm no theologian by any stretch, but if you disregard the Old Testament which is the prophetic foundation for the idea of the Christ how can you label yourself Christian without being a total hypocrite:hmmm:?

Not to do a pile-on but...

The passage interpreted to mean that :wub: is against God's wishes is IN the Old Testament. So hopefully after that comment you've realized you have another reason to think its immoral.

For me, right now, yes. Porn and dirty thoughts (aka lustful) are forbidden (at least for another 19 days ). After that's up, I don't see any real objections to it, as long as it doesn't become an addiction (or obsession). I probably won't ever watch again (unless it's in a movie or female form in art) because I prefer interaction with real females .

Of course its not immoral. To me looking at Naked ladies (Or Men) is harmless. It's simply a means for gratification, at that its healthy. I mean, does looking at porn make one Perverted? Sinister? Evil? No. Porn does not lead to worse acts, it starts and ends at watching it. No religon or book can tell me otherwise, if I followed the Bible-hell if society followed the bible- we wouldn't be accepting of Homosexuals, and we would have a very backwards society.

In my opinion, if you are religious and do respect your holy book, you should use it as a moral compass but not law. To many people fall back on religion to control society and influence others who are easily influenced, like in the case of porn. Religion is about God and being a good person, otherwise they should stay out of it. I'm sure most of you saw that thread posted a few days ago about how :wub: makes you tired, forgetful, unhealthy and unproductive-and you burn in hell for all eternity. This to me is a prime example.

Of course not.

The pornographic arts are a major billion-dollar industry in the United States. It has developed and refined itself to become a cornerstone of the larger motion picture industry. Without it, the economy would suffer.
Since true morality is decided by that which is harmful or beneficial to society, I think that the pornographic and erotic arts are morally good, because they benefit the entertainment industry of the economy, and therefore, they benefit society. So long as no one is harmed in the making of such art, and as long as any malevolent effects (STD's, abuse, etc.) are kept at a minimum, it can be considered a benefit to society and thus morally right.
