The Sins of the Father: Roleplay-Centric HRE AAR

So, I'm debating starting an AAR as the Holy Romans, after playing a campaign or two with them, I've found their campaign to be very fun. I'll be playing on several "self-enforced" rules, so I don't trounce the whole map too fast.

*Playing on H/H

*Less Aggressive towards Catholic factions than I would be normally. Attempting to self-simulate the Pope.

*Extreme favoritism and support/supplies for The Teutons. (Until they get in my way that is....)

"And so our great work begins.." scrawled the emperor across his personal journal, his nearly perfect handwriting accentuating each and ever letter.
"The Teutons have begun what they were made for, and I grow more and more anxious to see them begin what great work we had in mind for them.I've dispatched a diplomat to them, and have begun pondering the idea of sending a "Holy Inquisition" to their lands to assist in the conversion of the area.
In the meantime, I have dispatched Wilbrand von Kasernburg to seize the tiny hovel south of Hamburg. He should be able to finish them off quite easily."


Wilbrand begins the assault.

"I however, cannot trust him over much. He has a disturbing habit of sitting back and letting the commoners do his dirty work. Not so in my case but...whatever works.

Wilbrand sits and watches the carnage as his spear militia slowly, painstakingly grind down the peasants.



After brutally sacrificing his militia, Wilbrand stands victorious.

"I have decided that Albrecht shall become the new lord of this pathetic area. He's a loyal man, and that's something I value over all else.


"And to the east, everything is going according to plans. We must establish a clear front so the Poles stay their distance. Until we finish the Danes, they should stay....at an arm's length. To do so, we regrettably had to slay the rebels of Gorlitz to a man. There wasn't even enough villagers alive to slaughter and plunder! Hah!" We've also begun a siege of Potsdam, which should fall within a year.


Gorlitz is subdued. In the distance, Potsdam comes under attack from a Holy Roman army led by a Captain.


" And now...now....now we look north. The Danes have held the northern edge of our Germanic lands for far too long. I myself will lead this army. Perhaps my "diplomat" will manage to coax some extra florins from those scrofulous wretches before we take back what is rightfully ours.Hamburg must fall, and then the Danes will know the meaning of what the Reich is. We WILL prevail, at any cost."

Very nice indeed. A good mix between pictures and narrative writing. More battle pictures would be nice.
