    Hi all,

    I didn't really know where to put this question, but I hope it is the right place for it here...

    Well, I have really a very annoying problem that already has consumed too much of my time and slowly I'm beginning to be real desperated.

    All problems just recently started since I have 29 factions in my mod (maybe it happened also with 26 factions, but I havn't noticed it).
    With 25 factions there were none of such problems...

    The problem is that the game always crashes in the main menu when I want to switch from one single player option (i.e click on "grand campaign") to another one (i.e click on "custom battle").
    However, If I once start the grand campaign and when I now return to the main menu I can start i.e a custom battle without problems...

    I assume it must has something to do with the mtw2.lnt file (that determines all the menu symbols) or the descr_sm_factions.txt file, since I can't imagine any other reasons, but I absolutely have no more ideas what I'm missing or what I could have done wrong...

    btw, I'm using alpaca'S .lnt file for provincial campaigns, but this does also happen with any other .lnt file...

    I would be very grateful for any help or idea!

    Are all the extra factions fully playable?

    Thanks for the reply!

    Well, I've added a custom campaign in my mod, so there are actually two different descr_strat files:
    The original campaign with 22 playable factions and the custom campaign with 24 playble factions...
    So, in the custom campaign there are all extra factions playable, except one (knights templar; and on the other side mongols are playble) and in the grand campaign they are playable except two (jerusalem and teutonic order)...

    I have 25 faction symbols in the mtw2.lnt file for both campaigns (grand and custom).
    21 for custom battles, if this matters in any way...

    May the different amount of playable factions be the reason for it??

    perhaps you have more than 21 factions set to "custom_battle_availability yes"?

    I've the same problem in my mod... The game always crashes in the main menu when I want to switch from the Grand Campaign to the Custom Battle, or vice-versa, and when I select more than 5 factions consecutively in the Grand Campaign menu! I can't understand...

    I did a modified .lnt that I thought caused same problem. But when I took it out the original game seemed to do the same thing! At which point I decided it must just be an inherant M2 problem. Will have to double check on a new install

    Do the people experiencing this have both mod-folders and provincial campaigns set up?

    perhaps you have more than 21 factions set to "custom_battle_availability yes"?
    This was the first thing that I thought could be the reason..
    However, I've counted them at least 5 times and only 21 are playable in custom battles....

    besides, currently I have made 25 factions playable in custom battles, so that there are as many factions playable as in the normal campaigns..
    still the same results...

    this makes me really think that the problem is probably not related to an error in the .lnt file or any other modded files, maybe this is really a problem of the M2 engine or whatever, when there are more than x factions...
    I have also made several tests where I've only used the "grand campaign" without a provincial campaign and with many different .lnt files, too, but the bug was always the same...

    Pretty strange... Well, probably I have to live with this bug, unfortuntely.
