I am somewhat tired and disillusioned with my role as Speaker; I am also aware that I am neglecting some of my duties, and that the pressures on my time will only increase over the course of this year. Therefore, without going into more details about the causes, I am now announcing that a fortnight after the conclusion of the election of the new Curator, I will be resigning; the first duty of the new Curator, on his election, will therefore be to post an application thread for Speaker. I remain for the time I feel that it will be useful to aid in the acclimatisation of the Curator to their new role.

OK. The vote was restarted. It's an inconvenience, yes. Ultimately, though, it's no more. Ozy is also resigning too. He acted in good faith and, whilst I might not have gone down the exact same route he did, I can understand why he did it. What's done is done

Well, this is just idle speculation on my part, but I don't see Ozy as being the type to just stand by while Prof destroys everything he's spent the last several months working on.

First, as mentioned above, he said he would resign after the Curator is elected... if he were to do so now, there would be no one to do either of their jobs, as I guess the Speaker is now covering for the Curator.

Second, theres nothing "illegal" in what he did. Maybe someone can prove its against the Constitution (which is not a legal document), but it is certainly not illegal.

And anyways, holding the same election twice or more in a row should ideally render the same results... if it doesn't, that means that something is either attributed to chance, or something (eg: opinions, stances, etc.) has changed in between the two elections, and then it only seems rational that the latest poll results are used, since they correspond to the most current circumstances.

Regarding point 1, I think it's safe to say that, barring any unexpected flooding of the polls by Narses supporters, Prof will win. Regarding point 2, well...you have read Prof's platform (along with his later statements affirming it's seriousness), haven't you?

Well, that just means that plenty of people actually wish to see the Curia destroyed

i doubt that, in every circumstance... some people are just voting on the name. some people have been very surprised when i've done precisely what i promised to do if elected.

as i understand it, Ozy has resigned effective from 2 weeks after the Curator election is complete. The two weeks being the period of the election cycle to replace him
